Iām not surprised the owners manual is very specific about what type of oil to use. They probably donāt want to risk a warranty denial from Corporate if something happens.
Sorry one more thing. Itās possible only the threads on the new drain plug weāre stripped. Iāve heard of that happening. So it may just need a new plug/washer.
Either a helicoil or time-sent should work without replacing the pan. I would personally go time-sert but you probably want a pro to do this.
Keep your head up, stuff happens.
Iāve been using REW for many years now for my home theater and car audio.
I did come across this guide not long ago and found it helpful. Might be another reference for you. Good luck and enjoy the process...
I still feel like it might be like trading more down than up. Unless you really want a manual. For me I feel the next level up from a Supra would be a Cayman 4.0, C8, GT500, etc. I just donāt see myself getting a 4 +cylinder unless itās has electric motors too.
For me itās the cost vs the benefit. Adding a downpipe without a tune or piggyback will result in slightly higher horsepower and better sound at the expensive of a potential CEL or warranty denial if you have a powertrain issue.
I personally wouldnāt do a downpipe without a tune.
Nice. I had a 16 C7 Z51 w/magride. Agreed, at had good power but it felt big and sometimes unrefined.
Also briefly had an ND Miata but was not for me.
Supra is just right. Nimble and fast. It feels like a true purpose built sports car.
I had an 18 ND1 with BBS/Recaro. I had an exhaust and a tune and coilovers. Car handled well, but I owned too many higher horsepower cars and I really missed more power and the 4cylinder exhaust did nothing for me.
Lots to like, but I didnāt want to do down the forced induction route.
Its my first sports car with an automatic and itās pretty intuitive. There is a little button the side younhave to hold when parked and then pull the shifter forward for reverse or backward for forward/auto. Once you have it in the forward position you can shift the lever over to the left for...
Keep in mind if there is a full engine teardown/replacement Toyota corporate may want evidence and even send a tech onsite to confirm there was no supporting mods/tune that could have resulted in failure. At that point it's even out of the service managers hands.
Potential warranty denial. If your not using a tune, potential for a CEL.
In my mind, only way I am running a downpipe is if I tune the car and add other supporting mods and go full send. At that point I won't worry about my powertrain warranty because it's not longer relevant.
As always pay to play. Yes, adding a downpipe will not void your warranty on issues unaffected by a downpipe (example electronics, etc).
But Toyota can deny warranty claims on powertrain related issues for adding a downpipe so you have to tread lightly.
Honestly if you are not going to add...
First, you need to test drive a Supra before you buy it. It's such a huge difference from the Challenger. Many pros (small nimble, purpose built, great handling, lots of mods, more rare, etc) and some cons (much tighter inside, no backseat, harder to get in and out of, not quite as...
