If you’ve been watching the news both Ford and GM have come out and said they will be changing their business model. Dealers used to have a 90-120+ day supply of cars on the lot. No more. Dealers will be allowed to have about a 30 day supply goimg forward. This has nothing to do with...
I’m so sick of all the snide comments and Youtube videos declaring the Supra dead because of the new Z. Yes a car nobody has driven, we don’t know the final price, don’t know the final weight, and don’t even know when dealers will get them has killed off the Supra…. I think so people are going...
yes there were screenshots provided Of where the Narc reached out to the Toyota techs. It was a douche move for sure, but you have to pay to play. Cranking up JB4 to max boost and not looking at logs can be catastrophic.
Just wait. The price of the used C7 market will see a huge drop. like most cars. But they made so many C7’s, unless you have something like a ZR1 with a manual it’s going to correct.
I think you really summed up in words what has been bugging me about the front. Side and rear are fine, but it really does look like the front is an EV. I didn’t love the Supra pictures either when I first saw it, so it may look better in person. But it just screams boring.
Ahh. Dry weight. There you go. Add 200-250lbs to that to compare weight with Supra. GM did the same thing with the new C8. They published the dry weight and people tried comparing that to cars that listed the curb weight with fluids.
Yes all these people saying $32K and 3200lbs were living in a fantasy land. When it’s all said and done a Z configured as close to a Supra 3.0 Premium will be pushing $50K and 3500lbs.
So have they provided the tune specs? HP/TQ increase? Gains over stock? Is it for 93 octane or 91 only? What about bolt ons? Will they offer different OTS tunes for you to pick from? What about flashing back to stock? Whole thing seems convuluted.
If it was specifically designed for the Supra it could still be a nice upgrade if the tuner is competent. Think APR on a VW. But yeah getting the max potential with specific bolt ons and fuel will require a custom tune.
Hmmm.. Progress, but I would probably still go JB4/downpipe/ethanol and a custom JB4 tune until you can get a custom tune done and unlocked ECU. Not sure how I feel about mailing my ECU to Europe to get an OTS tune. Lot's of risks there.
Nothing really new. Still dont know the weight, don’t know the pricing (aside from a rumor of “around $40K” for the base), don’t have real performance numbers.
Overall its a nice package. But I cannot get over the front end On video and pictures, so maybe I will like it better on person...
