I believe I read someone who attempted a different B58 ECU but not Supra for Supra. Not sure if you've seen one that was like exact ECU or not. I've heard people say it could be coded if it was the same vehicle, but no idea what kind of work that requires.

Honestly I'd go buy a 2020 ECU if I knew 100% someone could code it to work properly in my vehicle without issues.

Pretty sure the ECU's are always going to require a bench unlock at this point no matter what. The bigger issue is the guys with 2021 vehicles that can't get them unlocked AT ALL because of the new Bosch security. There's no option for a lot of people other than a piggyback or sit and wait. And...

Just dropped my Z4 off to have it looked at today, didn't cost me anything to look. 6/21 ECU build...not getting my hopes up but we'll see soon enough.

I'm interested in getting the AA catted option. What's the timeline to get one? Also been looking at the Akraprovic exhaust/midpipe. Happy to go to PM's or chat elsewhere.

Think there's any point at all to going full Akrapovic vs swapping out the downpipe for a cheaper one? Obviously sound/tone is a consideration but truthfully I've never heard a full Akrapovic Mk5 in person (just the titanium exhaust/midpipe), couldn't rightly say if it was worth the extra ~$1200...

What's the difference between 300 CEL vs 400 CEL with these downpipes? I see AA updated theirs or whatever. New to the catted downpipes.

Just curious - Have an EU company quoting me on exhaust, said cheapest option would be to pick it up from the closest airport vs having it delivered. They said they give the customs paperwork in advance, you go, pay duties, show customs paperwork, take your shit home. Never done this before...

Agreed - going to do so. I was talking to the CEO of Manhart (tuner/performance part manufacturer) - they said they've had 6/20's locked, but also had later than 6/20 not. Most recently they had a 9/20 (X3M) that they were able to bench unlock. Seems to be relatively random.

Oddly enough my local tuner has a 6/25 cutoff that they said they received from EcuTek, I told them that they were likely wrong but I may send it off to check just out of curiosity myself. I have a Z4 M40i, not a Supra, no idea if they updated the ECU's for the Zed at the same time as the Supra...

Yeah super annoying pulling my ECU to see the date is 6/21/20 which is literally the exact day the changes took effect from what I've been told. BTW, I don't even have a Supra, I have a Z4 M40i but ZERO PEOPLE talk about modding on the G29 BMW forums. Funny shit. I just want my shit TUNED!

Anyone know with certainty catted downpipes that won't cause any error messages? Would like to get my exhaust/downpipe installed and then keep waiting for the ECU unlock and do that after the fact - but also don't want to drive around with error codes.

Any updates on this from anyone? I've still never checked for sure but my ECU date is 6/21/20 so assuming in the same boat. Feels like it's been a lifetime already waiting for someone to crack the code!

yes to my understanding they all need to be unlocked. if you have a local tuner they can usually do it or you can send it off to some of the tuners on the forum and they will unlock it for you.
