Yeah kind of sucks being pigeonholed into (1) option with a '21. Really hope that they can crack this new ECU this year. I had plans to put a bigger turbo on, all on indefinite hold and JB4 only option.
Car is in the shop now awaiting rest of parts, but will have the following done within...
Would love an explanation, obviously it's cheap and I've already got a JB4 on the way and will have it done at a local shop, can add this but they basically said not worth it unless im running a blend, Map3/map4 difference was 0.5psi.
Do you think it's worth putting something under the bumper to prevent scraping (like SLIPLO) after the 0.8 drop or is it still plenty high enough that you have zero clearance issues? Just curious. Thanks for this by the way - I just ordered from that link and it says 3 day UPS Select even...
Is this what you're running? I'm trying to get everything done at once, full exhaust/JB4. Out of curiosity, with the JB4 extra power it's putting down - worth going ahead and upgrading to 265/285 tires? I've heard that's the case with custom tunes, wanted to see if it was pretty much the same...
You on stock tires? I’m considering doing this while moving to 265 /285 tires. Didn’t want the car to be too low. Assuming you have no clearance issues?
Got it, I may get 2 sets for different applications. any recommendations for street tires then? Obviously have no issue with the stock PSS but concern is them being insufficient post bolt ons / tune.
Good reliable year round street tire for my scenario? About to Jb4, Map3, have full exhaust sitting in the garage. Looking to get Eibach Z4 Pro-kit to lower 20mm, drop some new tires. Probably R888R 265 front / 285 rear. Car is garaged and not my DD, just used for spirited weekend drives and...
I will. Looks like you want it if you're running map 3
My biggest question is - best tire upgrade path post-tune? have seen some saying it's hard to put the power down post-tune on the stock SS tires
Hear a lot of good things about R888R's - are these fine as a year round street tire? (this...
Yeah I just got a 21 Rubicon and it there's no longer an option without the 48V. I got the Pentastar V6 and the 48V is there to stay. Would hate to see it happen to the next year of sports cars, hopefully not!
They're saying that 21 after June/July ECU production date can't be unlocked by benching. Prior to can. IE, you have a MY2021 with a 05/20 ECU then you're good. The ECU build date hardly ever matches the car build date. For instance, my car was built in August 2020, but the ECU is 6/21/20
I THINK the confirmation is that they haven't seen one they could unlock from that date on so far. I never heard anyone say "confirmed by BMW or confirmed by Bosch".
6/21 here...just sent it off to check, only cost me shipping, no big deal. better than assuming since it's never been "officially" confirmed as far as i'm concerned.
i looked at the MY21 updates, BMW listed in August that it was now on the m340i, i also see it on the m440i. thought maybe it was just sedans at first, seems to be going across all the non "real" M cars slowly.
