FWIW I had my transmission tuned by him for track use and had no issues. He was responsive via email and did a few updates based on my feedback and always responded quickly.
Personally I think the XHP tunes are a little better for street use (there's a bit more of a delay on the 1-2 and 2-3...
My buddy put his C7 into the wall at Road Atlanta T11 at >100mph and his harness bar survived, so I know they *can* do the job. Although unfortunate, good to know they've been tested.
The Dashbuilt bar was the other safety piece I was looking at it. It's just obviously a lot more modification...
What are you running to support harnesses?
A proper race seat and harness is on my list for 2026, but I have been leery because there aren't really safe ways to run a harness without a roll bar or cage. I know the Cusco bar is an option, but I am unsure how safe that is.
His car really wasn't any faster on the straights. His gains were in sector 2. Whatever they fixed, it seems like it was more to do with the balance of the car than just cranking the engine to 11. I read that Honda doesn't have a "party mode" map like the Mercedes engine does, either, although...
In general I tend to err on the side of being cautious, but I also like having data. I would advise people who are making a habit of tracking the car to have their oil tested, not just because you may be able to run longer intervals, but you'll also get a baseline for your engine's metal wear...
The RE71RS is pretty capable in the rain. I've driven on track with them in the wet, no issues if you are using your head. Leave traction control on in heavy rain, the Supra TC is quite good in the wet.
