the LC is 4400lbs fully loaded; the thing is a land yacht in comparison (albeit a crazy nice one as you'd expect) and that 10spd isn't my favorite transmission either.
I'd 110% buy an RC-F over the LC500. It's still a land yacht, but it's 450lbs lighter, and while the 8spd Aisin is no ZF8 it's...
There's the locked ECU thing and a few tuners mentioned a slightly different power curve (BMW may have tweaked the map slightly or it may just be a variance between vehicles).
marketing wise, the car has to fit the product stack and slot in below the 4 cylinder Supra, which is 260hp in highest trim everywhere it's currently available and rumored to be bumped to ~280 for US debut timeframe.
that means the max you'd see for the 86 is likely 220-230hp for what I'd guess...
that much is true for the 2J as its not going to reach any sort of longevity, but I have yet to see the B58 do the same.
hopefully it does; it appears that it should be able to.
modularity for one, unless those others are the same
also not seeing the Remus (full slip on) or ECS being available yet, at least on quick Google search. links?
I love the idea behind those cars and when they work, but man are they a trip lol. I remember journalists giving up on reviewing them because they would break unexpectedly in traffic or when they would go to start it lol.
when functioning properly though, awesome experience.
Stock coils should get the job done just as OE 2J coils have done all the way past 1000whp. As for bearings, he or someone else would probably have to design some and given the stock ones are coated they might be alright for the time being.
"The Supra has only barely started shipping to dealers and finding buyers, but it sounds like the automaker may already be well underway with work on a new 86.
That is, if you take comments from Supra chief engineer Tetsuya Tada at face value. The main man behind the reborn Supra told...

As many of you know, this is where the majority of Toyota R&D has been as of late: autonomous driving coupled with green energy.
I've been working on some of this stuff on...
As someone on both the outside looking in as a consumer and as someone that worked on the project, I really don't care for the interior. IMO, it has a very boring cluster/dash/steering wheel (I do like the CF switch panel). I generally love the rest of the car though.
Those numbers are a little less than a stock 2J, but theyre close enough.
