Ok! Got the chassis code cleared up and put in some seat time today. As I've noted briefly elsewhere, it's a stiff motor mount (90A insert). Additional NVH at idle. Plastic-to-plastic surfaces now buzz against each other. It's difficult to see anything in the rear view mirror at WOT because of...
@FLtrackdays
Yes, I'm responding to myself. Calibrating the DSC resolved the chassis code and all of the other "driver assist" codes that were being thrown. Took a couple of hours and $140 at the dealership today. No biggie.
It's pretty amazing the shit that happens during successful fraud. I've found some banks will just take a couple days and make you verify a small (a couple of cents they immediately take back) transaction or two in a destination account for outgoing transfers. Some banks don't require anything...
The only argument I can think of is people being nervous about shipping their ECU. Doubly so if it's their daily. I can understand that concern. That doesn't bother me in the least, personally, but I've never had a package lost in the decades I've been shipping stuff around. My car also isn't my...
Complaints about rough power delivery on JB4s coming from people running the OTS settings? It was shit for me, but feels great after @Jesse DaBears did his thing. Don't notice any latency or delay in power delivery, either. Ultimately I'll get a proper tune, but this is fine for meow.
Funny you mention it, the other motor I didn't have any issue with this in was a 1.8T VW motor. Maybe I just got lucky, but it was built for track use, and it seemed like (upgraded) electronics and quality lubrication did a good enough job addressing it that I wasn't able to blow it up as much...
I thought those were the speed chatters! I understand the principle, but is that really a concern with the B58? I've lugged the engine in the car plenty of times before because I'm a shitty driver and never had (audible) issues with this. Certainly nothing dramatic enough to throw a code, which...
Have we had a known case of a B58 being damaged because of this? I'm just having a hard time believing BMW would engineer a motor that goes in damn near all of their passenger cars at this point that can't handle a condition such as this.
