I was under the assumption with this car, like others, that with a fully unlocked ECU, you can turn it off permanently? I may have just answered my own question there, but I've never read if that can be turned off for good with the partial unlock femto does without the cloning process.
Here's another related question since this one has been answered: Can the check engine light be coded out with only the partial unlock or does it require the cloning process?
Sounds like you're doing all the right things, IMO. I was in your shoes at that age. I got involved in IT doing cyber security work during the middle of the dot com bubble in the mid 90's. I was making good money and living at home at the time (17yo-ish). I'd say the only (boring) advice I have...
I see you're a fan of "just black," too. Automodz, as difficult as they are sometimes with shipping in a timely fashion and such, sells some of their otherwise excellent products in "just black." I'm also not a fan of a bunch of carbon fiber on the exterior of the car. I like the OEM look for...
Holding down the left paddle downshifts to the lowest possible gear directly (i.e., skips the gears between current and target gear). And just to provide more data, my '21 will bounce of the rev limiter all day in manual mode until I shift or back off.
I'm assuming it's being measured at the watch? Have you tried to measure it around the car at a specific distance? I'm going to have to pull out my sound measurement gear and do it once I get my car back, with this same setup, as a couple of the tracks I visit have limits at certain distances.
Right on. I should get my car back mid-next week. Will let you know how the 90A's feel. The shop is also going to give me a buzz so I can swing by and get some pics when it's up on the lift.
Mine was the same. I went to a local Toyota dealership to buy a Highlander and a Tacoma, and walked away with a Highlander, a Tacoma, and a Supra. I had kind of been shopping for the "right" fun car for a couple of years, but didn't anticipate I would find it at a Toyota dealership.
Today I dropped the car off at the local motorsports shop for... Evolution Racewerks ceramic-coated catless downpipe, Eibach EU-spec springs, Verus Engineering motor mounts (w/ 90A inserts), CSG C21/11 brake pads, Motul RBF 660 brake fluid, Turner Motorsports braided brake lines, and all of the...
