Same with me but "now-a-days" its quite hard to really "brick" something unless its literally breaking a piece of hardware in the process somehow. Given the way bootloaders work and how cheap space is vs the cost of bricking something having the boot image and "golden flash" image space is...
Couple pictures after a nice wash yesterday.
new paragon p3 pads and stainless steel lines with rbf600 fluid in as well. Ready to go for my next hpde day!
As a novice (2 track days) I said this exact thing to my HPDE 1 instructor a couple weeks ago when I was there. I have a jb4 and it was disabled all day, I even asked if we could do one session at like 80% just to work on lines, turn in/exit and corner speeds. I'm all for going all out (and only...
I don't have a complete suspension, I have the sways (front and rear) from aFe set to the recommend settings (I forget off the top of my head what those are), PS4S tires on a non square setup 9.5/10.5, brake cooling kit from Verus (currently putting on paragon p3 pads and doing a brake flush)...
I noticed this on my last track day too. Same general temps outside, I have a MST v2 intake, AA catted DP, turbo heatshield, still pulling timing a bit, certainly noticed on the back straights at lightning.I have a JB4 with custom tune but was running stock tune all day so I know that wasn't the...
I took my seasucker up on a 400 mile trip the first time I "really" used it and yeah I stopped and checked it a couple times earlier in the trip but it was holding well. only thing I learned from that was to put a bungie over the frame on each pedal so they don't rotate backward at all. Almost...
md file is just a markdown syntax text file which is easy to take other text documents and make a "formatted" pdf so people don't need to mess with Word or whatever other document programs people use.
So I took the latest initial post and created a .md file and pdf for it...feel free to post it at the original tab. The formatting isn't amazing but its workable. Thanks for all the great info!!! (I can't upload the .md file I used to create this but I could probably DM or email it to you so let...
I know the quickjack is not cheap but it is well worth it if you plan on using it at least semi-regularly. I've used it on my mini cooper, supra, and rdx. I've also used it on the SOs focus (not rs haha). Makes doing stuff so much easier. In fact the supra is currently up on it for brake...
do the stiffer coilovers even at stock ride height help that much? I am debating my next mod, on the list (note: I have stock turbo with jb4) is intake manifold (for IAT) or vented hood (not a huge fan of the cf hoods, would potentially try and get it paint matched). I have new pads/lines/fluid...
Had my second track day on Sunday. Posted a couple pictures in my build thread (link in my signature) and have a video of my best lap of my final (5th) session of the day. Nothing crazy but had fun with it. About 1.6 seconds off my best time of the whole day.
Video of my best lap during my last session. I was about 1.2 seconds slower than my best lap of the day but still pushing it a bit. I have new W3/P3 pads, brake fluid, stainless steel lines, and an oil changed planned for this weekend. I did notice the brake pedal getting a little soft later in...
You could also get a kit like this to see if exhaust gases are getting into the coolant to see if theres a blown gasket or cracked block. Both of which could cause white smoke.
those numbers are almost identical to my jb4 disabled with a AA catted DP and MST intake. You sure you had your tune loaded?
My car was admittedly heatsoaked when I did my map 6 pulls but I still got 470lbft and a few more HP.
They can be "hung" on the wall so not much at all. just put the hangers so the wheels are still on the ground and then the weight isn't being held up by the hangers really, just enough to make them not slide out. If mine weren't in use right now on the mini I'd take a picture of them hanging.
