  1. Nissan Z vs Toyota Supra

Interesting that R&T felt nismo brake pads were important to add to the Z right off the bat. Why not give the Supra something too just for fun? Say, TRD parts, or a stage one ECU tune? Maybe $10 for something to breakup wind buffet going into cabin? Cheaper than brake pads and just roll down...
  2. 2021 Toyota Supra Reviews Compilation

Why is the Supra being jointly developed with BMW a bad thing? It's a good thing.
  3. Supra drawbacks

Hi OP, I've never driven the GT350 but I understand it's a highly capable sports car, and I really like the look and sound. So you have a pretty amazing ride right off the bat. Supra's interior cabin luxury, ride quality, and power will exceed your expectations. Don't know if it will be more...
  4. Who would be interested in doing a group event at the Tail of the dragon?

3 days over a weekend starting Friday ending Sunday would be ideal, that way folks can travel in Friday afternoon and rest up B4 attacking first thing Saturday. Late March to mid April should have less traffic. Late April through May could also work too.
  5. Who would be interested in doing a group event at the Tail of the dragon?

Thanks for getting this started! I'm in. Maybe we can go the same time as the Bimmer groups and troll them ?.
  6. Half the Price of a Base 911... More Than Half the Fun?

Whichever car allows you to be less precious and stressed out about owning, is the more fun car. Hence Miata is always the answer (or BRZ) haha.
  7. Upstate SC owners

Greetings from the upstate! I've seen at least 4 MKVs in Greenville alone (I'm right on the border of Greenville and Mauldin by the CU-ICAR)- I've seen a Nitro Yellow, 2 Renaissance Red, Turbulence Grey, and I believe a white one. Who else is from the upstate? Here's a pic of mine at Table...
  8. Nissan Z vs Toyota Supra

The winner of this comparo was the GR86. Cheaper, fun to drive, better feeling haha- probably not wrong. Amazing it's only seconds behind Oni-san (Supra). Note: I like SG, they make really good content. They raise valid points and criticism of both. Kudos to them for making this video.
  9. Used Supra Prices

If not in a hurry, I'd suggest waiting until winter or spring '23 to shop one. With the cooling market the speculators who bought new hoping to flip at a premium will get crushed and nice discounts will be a available as the supply of new builds up from lack of attractive rates. Just my 2 cents.
  10. Best time to change oil on daily Supra?

Range of opinions here so I'll offer my 2 cents. Biggest variables are ambient conditions, oil quality, and driving demeanor. Stress the engine by 2 out of 3 it's already going to call for more frequency than the OEM spec of 10k or 1 yr. Biggest issue is not necessarily quantity of oil, it's...
  11. U.S. Toyota Dealers without Mark Ups

Congrats! Not sure if you plan on getting PPF or ceramic coating, but if so maybe give your guy a heads up to not wash your car? Tunnel washes are a killer on the paint, especially red ones.
  12. U.S. Toyota Dealers without Mark Ups

Yea, I'd definitely pass on that too. The dealer makes a flat fee when doing financing so it's a big part of the margin to the shop. Ditto for extended warranties.
  13. Value Retention on MKV Supra

I couldn't agree more. In the words of Chris Harris, "what's the point of working hard if you can't buy stupidly expensive toys?"
  14. Creating an ///MKV or ///MK5 Badge

Love it. Why not show some love for the contract manufacturer? courtesy of your best friends in Osterriche, with love from Graz...
  15. U.S. Toyota Dealers without Mark Ups

Sorry to hear that, you may have dodged a bullet tho with NJ sales tax north of 6%. You can try my guy at Greenville Toyota, Omar Hernandez in South Carolina. His number is (864) 478-1475 and email is [email protected] and [email protected].
  16. 2023 Toyota Pricing Document - Includes Manual and A91-MT Pricing

Wonder what the overall take rate will be for the manual versus AT.
  17. Value Retention on MKV Supra

Yep it's special for sure, and pretty much attainable for the Gen Z crowd once they come of age and save a bit of cash for a down payment. So should see reasonable demand in the used market amongst the JDM crowd.
  18. Value Retention on MKV Supra

I'll offer up my crystal ball. According to caredge.com a brand new Supra after 5 years assuming 12k miles per year will still have 75% resale value which is outstanding. Biggest challenge will be to keep it stock and find one at MSRP. Mods and dealer add-ons will decrease it's value. If you...
  19. MotorTrend long term test verdict

This. I keep coming back to how objectively amazing it is. The BMW collaboration, though polarizing, was the right call. I'm confident in 20 years when EV cars make 1000 bhp standard people will realize how special a moment in time this car was, much like the Mark IV before. History repeats...
