Just got mine done, as the notification popped up at roughly 36 months (presumably since the car was built, since I bought it May 2021)
I went to my local independent shop that is familiar with Supras as the nearby dealerships are either of questionable competence or have other known hassles...
I am not familiar with car software specifics, but I highly suspect those labels are hard coded into the headunit software/firmware or whatever, making it very hard to modify as the code running the headunit probably needs to be signed. The data values displayed come in via inputs which can be...
Well I partially (I think) fixed it... used the oldest fix in the book: smack it (the underside of the steering column) a few times. Now it actually vibrates the wheel again although it seems weaker than I remember and still louder than before but not as loud as it was yesterday. That said maybe...
Did this ever get figured out? I am pretty sure I have this happening now, except I have the OEM wheel and have never messed with it or modded. It no longer vibrates at all and just makes a noise instead when it should be kicking in.
I honestly don't care that much and could just turn off the...
Thanks, interesting read. For anyone interested, you can find tons of discussion about this around BMW forums if you search "bmw key fob sleep" on google.
Can also test this out yourself by doing the following:
1. Lock the car
2. Place the key fob on the mirror so it remains motionless
3. Wait...
I'm getting close to 36 months which is time to do the brake fluid. How hard of job is this? Any issues going to a good independent shop vs dealership? If I go with dealership, I'd probably make the somewhat long trip down to Toyota of Puyallup as @GoldenEye recommended them and they sound...
I have this one, which is expensive (read: overpriced) but is the only one like it I could find. Has two compartments which is nice for organization since we have two cars. One car parks in the garage, so the car that is parked outside has its fob in here, along with the spare fobs for each car...
Is there testing / proof / research or whatever somewhere of the "key doesn't transmit when not moving" thing? That arguably does sound like a feature a BMW key would have, but curious where this info is coming from?
You can't clone the key, at least for Supra/BMW. You can only use amplifier devices to basically rebroadcast / extend an existing keys radio range... which they can do from outside your house with a powerful enough device.
Then they can enter the car, start it and drive off since it is the same...
Funny enough the Supra is actually my daily - my other half usually drives the Mazda3. They actually get about the same MPG which is kind of impressive given the Supra has a bigger engine.
We got the top trim (Turbo Premium Plus) for all the goodies - overall pretty happy with the car. That...
If you want the best looking mats (as opposed to the best "protection") I really like coco mats, can customize the color as well.

I don't really have folks with massively muddy / dirty feet in my car so can't justify the all weather off-road looking ones, prefer...
I'd recommend taking whatever they can get as long as OP is OK within reason on the spoiler thing since we are talking about MT here. Most places have long waitlists and/or big markups for MT so I wouldn't recommend being picky. If this was about an AT, then I'd agree waiting should be fine...
I've been absolutely spoiled by bimmercode - being able to tweak and disable little nuisances is something I didn't realize I cared so much about.
We bought a Mazda3 and its basically impossible to mess with the head unit / system - would love to be able to disable the stupid "herpy derpy derr...
Current:
2021 Supra 3.0 Premium
2022 Mazda 3 Turbo Premium Plus (Sedan)
My dream is a 3 car garage so I can fit two cars + storage / stuff.
That said, in my 3 car garage, I'd go for:
Porsche 718 GT4 or GTS 4.0
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
This is taking the "plausibly attainable" dream car...
