Folks above are spot on... it is pretty much an exotic from an ownership perspective with all the gotchas you'd expect in terms of service and quirks. I had researched the 4C a few years before I got my Supra and decided it probably wasn't as livable as I wanted for a daily driver although it...
I came across the I-90 bridge to get there and leave. Roads seemed fine coming in, was definitely a bit rough on the way out although not really a problem.
Thanks for the recommendation - I had them do the recalls yesterday and they did a good job, no issues.
I think the only thing to watch out for is they officially book all Supra work (except oil changes) as needing to keep the car overnight, apparently because they only have 1 tech and can't...
I stopped using the built in charging pad given how hot it would make any phone put on it - I wouldn't be surprised to find out it is literally defective in some way and causes battery issues.
Switched to a proclip magsafe mount instead.
Back in 2021, I had to get my driver side door and front fender on my Supra repainted after someone hit me in a parking lot. Bel-Kirk Body Shop in Kirkland did a fantastic job. Looks good as new.
While we are on this topic, similar question: how important is it to get up to operating temperature before sending it? Let's say you've driven it normal like a half mile or something, and temperature gauge still shows just 1 bar. But now we've reached the freeway on-ramp... :hmm:
I'm sure...
I know *exactly* what you're talking about, as I went down this rabbit hole last year upgrading my computer speakers, but I still can't help but laugh out loud every time I hear this
Better late than never, but here is a thread with some pics showing what I ended up doing to fix this issue.
https://www.supramkv.com/threads/fixed-my-door-rattle-buzzing.17802/
My driver side door had developed an annoying buzzing/rattle sound. It usually only occurred on certain types of pavement, but was frequent (and loud) enough to bother me enough to pull the door apart to try to fix it.
WARNING: I'm only sharing this because it worked - however my choice of...
I have the ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/184838164575) ones, and also had AMS ones previously. Both work pretty good, although the ebay ones look nicer.
There was a point with the AMS ones where I kind of wondered if they really made that big a difference, but when I took them off it was...
Perhaps the new special edition will be the 2024 Supra A91-Cyber Edition, which will feature an iDrive system that is only one generation out of date instead of two generations :hmm:
Unfortunately, upon pulling the trim off I didn't find any obvious culprit. I ended up just adding 1/4 inch foam to some of the contact points, taping down a wire and wrapping some of the metal clips with electrical tape to tighten things up. I'll make a thread in the Guides section later today...
Probably not - the Z4 interior and electronics are already different than the Supra, so any upgrades there don't necessarily translate directly to the Supra. Z4 is already on iDrive7 (vs the ancient iDrive6 the Supra uses for its head unit). The Z4 also has terrible sales numbers, so I wouldn't...
Legit. IMO the "buy a house, build equity" advice is fine "default" advice for folks who are likely to live a very "default" life... aka build a career in one place, get married, settle down, have kids, eventually buy an RV or whatever.. etc.
If you KNOW want you want (freedom to roam, etc)...
I considered paying all cash, but would have needed to sell some stock/investments at the time. Instead decided to put 20k down and finance the rest @ 2.49% via local credit union. This was back in May 2021.
So far, this has worked out to be the right choice, but obviously that could change...
