2022 Mazda 3 (AWD, Turbo, premium plus trim)
I'm running AS tires on the Supra, but still steer clear of snow/ice in the winter months. The AWD on the Mazda has been great so far this season.
Not the OP, but I assume this is what they bought https://www.ebay.com/itm/294535736276
Would keep the plastic of the buckle from banging against the trim when the seatbelt isn't in use. I usually just lean over and flip it so it stops rattling, but might try this out.
For what its worth on, on my 2021 the rear ZL1 rock guards did not line up correctly. The holes were definitely just a little bit off. I had to dremel out almost a half inch in a few of the holes to get them to line up.
I honestly don't even notice them, front or back. They blend in really well and look OEM. I suppose for folks who are spending a lot of time perfecting their cars appearance, it could potentially hurt the look a little.
Ordered some Red wheel caps - held off on the badges as I am still deciding if that is the direction I want to go, glad to see the fitment is perfect though.
Is there is any plans to make replacement front/rear badges with the Toyota logo?
Not a former RC-F owner, but when we replaced our sedan this year, it was pretty much between a Mazda3 Turbo or a IS300 AWD. Ultimately went with the Mazda as it felt like it was delivering 90% of the experience/comfort of the IS300 with a significantly smaller pricetag.
That said, IS300 was a...
They do not handle it well, I seem to recall they lose a ton of traction once the temperature drops below 40 degrees. I think it was drivable, but you need to be very careful if it is wet + cold.
Mainly saying this because I had a really hard time getting the AS tires I wanted, and ended up...
I have my phone mount blocking a bunch of the buttons, but I still use a few:
1: CarPlay Music
2: CarPlay Nav
3-4: unused right now
5-7: hard to reach due to phone mount
8: Configure Sport Individual menu
Two questions:
1. Any Plans to restock the red ones eventually?
2. Do the the front/rear badges have any curvature to the back plate such that they exactly match the OEM badge shape or are they completely flat?
I like the factory amount of burble on my 2021.
While I like burbles, I am actually not a fan of the super loud "gunshot" bangs, which just sound like a shitty backfire imo. Those seem to occur pretty rarely though on the 2021 with typical driving.
I definitely felt a wave of disappointment the first (and probably last) time I pressed the horn button. Not interested in taking the bumper off just to upgrade it either.
More creaks and rattles than a $57K should have IMO. That said, I don't know if any other sports car around this price...
I daily drive mine all year round (except for when there is snow) but I'm over on the Eastside. I feel like I spot another Supra maybe once every 2-3 months or so, but never while driving to/from work 3-4 days a week.
I have the hood vents, what do you want to know?
Install is simple, just pop old vents out with a plastic trim tool and snap in the new vents. Fitment on the right side was 10/10, left side was maybe 9/10. They have a very nice OEM look.
Rain season is finally starting, so I can update later...
I guess it depends on the context of the question.
If you mean objectively, it is absolutely a Toyota. That is the legal make of the car. When you input the car's make/model, you don't pick BMW Supra. End of story. Doesn't matter what MKIV keyboard warriors think about it, their opinion doesn't...
I'd check the local subforum for your area (USA - Great Lakes) and see if anyone has already asked the "What local PPF shops do you recommend" question. If not, post it there and see if anyone has first hand experience.
Otherwise, yelp reviews I guess. Check the shops instagram/FB page to try...
Like others said, its a personal thing. If you highly value the car looking shiny and new, then it may be worth it. PPF can self-heal with heat if it gets dinged, so its not like after a while you end up with a hood PPF that looks like swiss cheese or something.
IMO if you are going to do PPF...
I seem to recall someone telling me that you don't need to do the cool down (although I still give it 30 seconds sometimes because I'm paranoid).
I have noticed the engine fans will keep running every once in a while after shutting off the engine and leaving the car, I assume to cool it down to...
I didn't really follow it, but also didn't hoon the shit out of the car during the 1200 miles. I tried to put a wide variety of load on the engine, which pretty much just meant driving it normally without paying attention to RPM combined with some spirited driving here and there and a big pull...
