Car has 0 issues stopping from highway speeds in adaptive cruise control mode though so it's not like it...

No. Not all 2020s are locked. My ECU was not. If you have a 2021 then best of luck, it’s either unlockable for a price or you’re temporarily s.o.l.
One of the cons for getting a c8 (when I considered waiting for one) was it’s inevitable abundance on the road, after few years. I already seen them more frequently than the Supra.
