I think Pebble beach is what to pay attention too. the reveal of the Z4 should shed some light on some things. Especially price and fake vents. I would have been worried about this unconfirmed specs but the price is what gave it up.
eventually a 3.0L would find its way to TMC. But since the supra is sharing with BMW, then Lexus might be the one to get it to replace the 350 models. Mercedes just released an I6 engine, wont be surprised if TMC has one in works.
picking from what everybody has said, I think the good thing about reviving the supra name is that an MKVI is very possible. Also, maybe partnering with BMW is a blessing in disguise. I really don't know too much about the supra's history but, what have been able to gather is that every supra is...
2006 IS350 weights 3500lbs with 306hp/277tq.....0-60 4.9secs (remember this an NA engine with max tq coming in around 4000rpm and max hp around 6000rpm)
now minus 500lbs from that weight it would probably do 0-60 in 4.7secs
now add a better tuned transmission and gearing that puts it at 4.6...
I also think this car can achieve the 3.8 second especially when i think of the 06 Lexus IS350 with 306hp at crank with just 274tq heavier than this MKV and also naturally aspirated with a regular auto transmission from 2006 and able to do 0-60 in mid to high 4s mark.
Hell yeah lol. am not Guff but hell yeah. Why? because after buying a car other things come to play also...Insurance on Porsche vs Toyota. Maintenance on Porsche Vs Toyota. i feel like if the specs is right on this car i.e 3000lb with 340hp doing 0-60 in 3.8 seconds a lot of people would be...
Lol that car would be looking so good next to a Porsche you will be tempted to pull the trigger. I can see the manual making it to Europe and maybe Japan. but in the US we are too spoilt with automatic that Toyota might not bother. At the same time it wont make sense to have manual in a lower...
Hahahahaha. TMC is an asshole for keeping everybody in the dark on this project. If celica as the base model is true then I guess the SFR might fill in the spot of the 86 when discontinued.Especially in size I think it competes better with Miata
Honestly Am betting on this car following in the footstep of the SC to LC name change. Also not naming the car supra would keep the value of the supra where it is and some time in the nearest future if this new car is a hit, I can see the supra following in the foot step of the 2000GT as a...
I agree with you. But Do you really think Toyota is not aware of the reliability issues with BMW engines? Common lets give them some credit. Toyota know that they are known for reliability and I don't think they are ready to give that up yet. Apart from what we have been told about the reason...
