This is ultimately, and very stupidly, why I haven't done it yet. The first time I got bench unlocked I had to drive 5 hours one way and pay $400. I suppose I do need to stop being dumb and get it done though.
Yea that sounds very similar to the brake system failure. I'm glad you were okay and didn't get hurt or damage anything. Lots of us on this forum have chosen to not get that recall done because it updates and relocks the ECU, resulting in you having to pay for another unlock in order to reflash...
The car is tuned for premium, 91 or 93 octane, from the factory. Putting a couple of gallons of E85 in the fuel would only really serve to raise the octane level to a point that the factory tune could take advantage of.
I think it's kind
Where as certain other tuners tune very conservatively to where the chance of something catastrophic occurring are very very minimal and the trade off is you're a bit slower. I will take slower and damn near bullet-proof any day.
I'm confused. Did you mean to post your for sale post in someone else's for sale thread? If so, that's kind of disrespectful.
Good luck OP, that's a hell of a price you're selling those for!
Have you by chance had the brake recall done? Asking because I believe that was the result of the brake system failure that is remedied by the recall. Something similar if not.
Yea the difference between a 93 octane OTS map and an E50 custom map is night and day. Like more than 2 to 3 second difference in a good 60-130, which is the most common roll race pretty much. So yea, that's a huge difference. Personally I haven't done any research and since I decided to go with...
What is your setup and who/what are you tuned on? Custom or OTS? Custom makes a huge difference. For me, when I swapped from MHD OTS E50 to Custom E40, I dropped my average 60-130 by over half a second. Lots of other factors obviously play a part as well.
It's completely possible that the Supra owner and the Prius owner are friends and it was a fun gag for a planned video. "Catless Prius, OMG no one has ever done it". Or else this guy is actually a POS. In the world we live in, with Youtube and all the other social media stunts we see daily, I...
I don't think so. The TPMS light is one of those lights that I would never want to deactivate. With these cars having no spare tire I would always want the TPMS light and Tire Pressure readouts to be working properly.
I didn't get my Supra right when they came out, but how is the worry and skepticism about the xHP tune any different from an ECU tune? It seems like everyone started jumping on the ECU tunes the first day they were released. Why is everyone so worried about the TCU tune or am I missing something?
People seem to be very skeptical of the xHP flash tunes on this forum. Not really sure why because from the research I did, xHP has a pretty rock solid reputation for their trans tunes. I do understand being skeptical and letting any bugs get ironed out first though. For me, I went ahead and...
Always Sport Individual with Sport + Transmission coded and Manual shifting at 5800-6000 rpms. It's been noted that roughly 5800 rpms is when the factory turbo starts to flow hot air so that's roughly when you should be shifting.
So I flashed my car with xHP. *Stage 3 Review.*
So I read that it was best to give the car about 50ish miles of driving conservatively in order to the give the TCU some time after the flash. So that's what I did, I drove around in Normal drive mode for exactly 50 miles. Then I started pushing...
It was like $517 with tax and shipping. I can confirm that the xHP License and Map pack with "OBD Interface Included" does in fact ship with their xHP Blue Wifi Dongle. It just arrived at my home. Sucks because I paid $70 for the MHD Orange adapter which just arrived as well. I'm about to go...
