I personally think the cooling gains from slotted or cross drilling are marginal on a ventilated disc. There are issues with cracking on drilled rotors as well. If you're serious about brake cooling it's better to run a brake cooling duct and hosing. Race pads and fluid are fine for 20 minute...

I never tracked them unfortunately but people are saying online around 32-33 psi hot for either of them. I would start around there (likely around 27 or 28 cold) and try to see where your tires are wearing. If you're getting more wear on the outsides you're under and if it's in the middle you're...

If you're trying to increase your speed and find the limit most people tend to push out their braking zone but braking too late is when people tend to get into hot water. Too much trail braking and throttle application are the other cases where things can get ugly when people aren't comfortable...

Definitely get a new set. I went through a massive headache of trying to resurface my old rotors with sandpaper and flexhone and it didn't really work and ended up getting another set of pads and rotors anyways. Unless you're getting the rotors turned on a lathe.
  5. What will I need to do to pass CA smog?

There's a breather hose that needs to be reconnected but it should be attached to the MST inlet already. There are really annoying one time use clamps for the intake you're gonna need to buy if you want to go completely stock but you're probably fine using the aftermarket worm gear one as well.
  6. What will I need to do to pass CA smog?

Does your MST intake include the lower turbo inlet that does direct to the turbo? If so you're going to likely need to replace that as well although luckily it's not very expensive: https://parts.priceleblanctoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-inlet-pipe-17274waa02 You can get a used intake like...
  7. What will I need to do to pass CA smog?

You definitely need to get a stock intake. Whether the AA catted downpipe passes the sniffer and the inspector doesn't notice it's aftermarket is a gamble. I would suggest going back to stock on everything.

I run just a front Eibach sway bar at the middle setting and have gotten fairly neutral to slight oversteer on corner entry with minimal to no trail braking. Your driving style will make a big difference but on long extended carousel corners I'm getting slight mid and corner end oversteer as...

I have no idea, I was sent this picture but I wasn't there.

Here's a better pic of the display details my friend sent me from SEMA.
  11. any drift spots near san jose?

I don't remember exactly but I think it was around $175-$200 for all day access to run as many laps as you want. The course is pretty small and really rough on the tires so you're gonna blow through a set pretty quickly.
  12. any drift spots near san jose?

Sonoma raceway has open drift days regularly, a little out of the way though.
  13. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

I bled it by having my wife pump the clutch pedal while I loosened and tightened the slave cylinder. It doesn't take much fluid but yeah as you noted keep it topped off.
  14. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

Okay obviously... I'm trying to clarify what the 10 minutes people were referring to was for and the actual turnaround time for the job. But thanks for another one of your many useful contributions to this thread.
  15. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

The actual job itself did only take like 10 minutes to disconnect the line and get the part out. Jacking up the car, removing the trim/undertray, putting them back on and bleeding the line made the job take a couple hours.
  16. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

I used a vice grip to clamp the clutch slave cylinder line and lost a drip or two of fluid at most.

Yeah definitely looking at alternatives, I ordered another set of PMUs a while back that are shipping soon as well as new rotors. If it happens again this week I'll try one more time with a new set and move on to something else. The CSGs sound awesome but that pricing is ridiculous.

That's the thing, it feels fine when I'm bedding it in. Heat/load increases exponentially so braking at 130 MPH is 4 times more energy than 65 MPH. It's hard to recreate heavy braking at 130 MPH outside of a track. I am stretching a bit to hit 80 on the back road by me. I'll try doing it more...
  19. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

Well one was discussing bedding process vs on track behavior. Either way I followed the general bed in procedure everyone else did (60-5, 80-5 passes than a cool down with minimal brake use) and haven't had this issue with other pads. PMUs just don't play well with other compounds, particularly...

The discussion now being about these snarky comments (which seem to be an epidemic on this forum) is less constructive than the original discussion. Given how often the PMU Club Racers are suggested as track pads, the only place I could find out that other people had the same problem was in...
