I had this issue along with everyone else. I took off the rotors and hit them with brake cleaner, scotch brite and flex hone with an electric drill. I also lightly sanded the pads down a bit before re-installing.
I went to the track again 2 days ago and still had some shudder issues although it...
Hey all,
I changed out my brakes for project mu clubsports and ran into some brake judder on the track. I flex honed the rotors, lightly sanded the pads and rebed the pads.
One of my rears (outside pad) seems to not be contacting the outer edge of the rotor although the other pads (including...
Oh also if you do change them look up which suspension bolts and nuts you need as they're one time torque to yield bolts that should be replaced every time they're taken off. The manual from Verkline has part numbers but the Toyota numbers didn't seem to always be for the right part, the BMW...
I have the toe links and didn't notice any major difference. I also have their LCA and caster arms and didn't notice a significant change.
Did you get your car aligned? I got a track alignment with more rear toe and the rear end is really stable even on track. Rear toe is also adjustable...
For me the mid range increase was significant and with my intake the turbo based on sound is clearly running higher boost. I did notice the gains dropped off at higher RPM so redline pulls with WOT felt similar to stock.
Thanks that helped a lot, managed to get it off.
For anyone trying to do this in the future a deep socket, small extension and swivel worked enough for me to barely get a torque wrench in there without taking off the front bumper.
I'm trying to replace the caster arms with Verklines but can't figure out how to undo the bolt that attaches to the subframe as the clearance is pretty tight. Do I just get a wrench in there or a swivel attached to a socket?
Hopefully someone who has done SPL caster bushings or the Verkline arm...
