I’m not entirely sure on the mechanics of what these cars do during the cold start cycle, but I imagine the wastegate is in a different position in addition to higher idle until it kicks over. With wide open exhaust I actually can’t wait for it to hit that quieter tone, it sounds like a D9...
it sounds like you are just explaining the basic cold start cycle. Exhaust valve in sport is always open. You can pull the fuse taking power away from the exhaust valve completely if you want to confirm….but it should behave the same. Fuse is in the trunk, F203 7.5 amp.
Haha! Actually no, they are my wife’s weights. The chair is in cold storage there since the Christmas tree went up in its spot on Halloween night. I live in a mad house
Getting a custom Jesse tune is the way to go with Jb4. He will work with you and give you peace of mind over the preloaded maps .
Do you need a cat? If you aren’t required to run one where you live you can get a catless armytrix that sounds amazing and does not throw the cel.
Polishing the used exhaust I bought ?
Its cleaning up like brand new, just need my buddy to lay a weld where it cracked along the seam (I guess this isn’t uncommon).
Excited to blow out my eardrums with this behind my catless dp! More pics after polishing and install
The wheels should tuck a little when your suspension is compressed. Hard to gauge fitment with suspension at full drop like that. Still looks like the offset is incorrect but I’d jack up a wheel and see what it does as the suspension is compressing, they may pull in quite a bit, but your camber...
Yes- no factory adjustment for camber unfortunately. Aftermarket control arms or camber plates needed
edit- rear camber is adjustable from factory to an extent, the front has no adjustment
@stormgreysupra
I’m glad for the product plug here as I got the idea after seeing yours ?
I promise to buy yours when I forget about these the next time I’m pressure washing-and peel the paint off of them like a snake shedding it’s skin
Another little “hack” I use is to place painted parts in the car immediately after spraying. I don’t have a paint booth and this is the best way I’ve found to eliminate garage dust and debris from falling into the paint while it’s still tacky-ruining an estimated 99% of rattle can jobs.
*edit*...
Thanks, I’m doing these projects mainly for the satisfaction I get out of it…but the *tens* of dollars I’ve saved so far on aftermarket parts is also a nice little treat!
and sure I’ll make that trade, depending on your cash on top ?
Thanks, I’ve done my fair share of DIY cringe-mods on previous cars, just try to learn from my tasteless mistakes. But I don’t plan to stop with these little DIY Supra projects until it inevitably goes *too* far. It’s all in the prep work! Also, a bead blaster helps if you’re using rattle can ?
Project from a few days ago. It is full winter in Minnesota, so these DIY projects keep me involved with the car and minimize the crippling seasonal depression that comes with driving a greasy Subaru wagon for several months every year.
I will preface this by saying these vents will never be...
