Nothing was improper about the set up. The spacers did the job with the stock wheels. My new wheels just eliminated the need for the spacers, but I still used the longer bolts on the new wheels which caused the problem. It was my fault.
Honestly, I didn't ask and just assumed/hoped they did. Although those bolts are not part of the hub SKU so who knows. I hope I don't have to replace a hub again anytime soon. Either way, the book calls for 6.5 hours of labor time and I'm not doing that on my back with jack stands! So whoever...
It ended up being the 4 bolts that hold the hub on. The bolts come from the back of the hub and are longer than the hub itself (doesn't make sense to me), you can see the hub bots in the picture. Those bolts made contact with the longer wheel bots and you can see the damage they took.
I took it...
If I spring for a front BBK, can I move the front rotors to the rear and still use the stock rear caliper? Stock caliper sizes are: front 13.7, rear 13.6.
Problem defined. Guess which bolts are the rear. Had spacers on before the new wheels and my dumbass used the spacer bolts for the new wheels. Shaved those down on the rear knuckle or hub (haven't taken it apart yet). That explains why it wouldn't move to begin with until I gave it enough...
Yep. The front is tight, but I can fit my hand between the wheel and caliper in the rear.
Nope. Direct replacements from BCForged
Absolutely! Worst case something breaks… replace it with something stronger!:drive:
After having the wheels put on, I took it off the jack stands, put it in reverse, and it went nowhere. It revved up to 4000 RPM but wouldn’t move until I really stomped the gas. It would move forward a bit. It now moves in drive and reverse, but there is it wobble that seems to be coming from...
You can do this with Bootmod3. Even without the valve on the track version, you can almost eliminate the pops and bangs in standard mode and make them ridiculously obnoxious in sport mode.
Are the OEM caps full CF or is it a thin layer of CF over plastic? Genuinely curious, my guess is the latter being that it is a cosmetic piece.
my $90 eBay ones look like the ones sold by vivid racing (minus the M styling).
As far as longevity, time will tell.
