I have previously owned 4 BMWs, they all ticked. I know that doesn’t help you find the cause, but I wouldn’t be worried about it. If you want to hear the ticking really loudly, take off the engine cover when idling.

Agreed. As an ex-cop I would find reasons to pull over thugs (window tint, rolling stops, not using blinker) but had never pulled anyone over for the lack of reflector and I am a car nut. I would say you are 99.9% safe doing this modification.

I thought the latest CarPlay update out next month makes it full screen?? I haven’t followed it too closely, but know there are supposed to be some pretty big updates with it.

Changed my mind overnight, ordered the hardwire mirror tap. The detector has gps lockout memory and is pretty quiet now that it knows my usual route. I guess it will be a little bit of a pain when on road trips (have to reach up to the detector to mute it or add to its memory), but in the end...

So is there a crease on the hood? I thought I read that Xpel does not have sheets large enough to cover the hood in one piece....? If so, can you take some close up photos of it? Looks great BTW.

I believe there is an optional leather case that would be listed on your window sticker. (It has a goofy name that I can’t think of...) Believe it or not, I do not believe the case comes standard on this 60k car...

There is, but I am leaving that to the install company to deal with. I was debating tapping into the mirror on my own, but then I would lose out on having a mute/memory remote switch. Decided to just let them install it all of it, with the blackvue, and also setup the remote switch...
