You’re obviously allowed to voice your opinions, but this isn’t a safe space like supraforums.com and people here will push back when you make broad statements like “Toyota techs hate the car”. I previously worked for Toyota (in the Powertrain division when the North American arm was still TEMA)...
Same here.
It's almost sad to see how the MKV has consumed that poster's life. They go out of their way to post on every single MKV post over on supraforums.com (even if it's a relevant post in the relevant sub-forum) and basically tell people to go away. Most recently, for example...
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like traditional spoilers just look weird on this car given the shape of its backside. The MKIV had a much flatter backside and so a spoiler worked but with the MKV anything more than the TRD spoiler almost looks like a spoiler on top of a spoiler to me...
But if you do, please at least make sure that it’s the widest body that ever wide bodied so that you can post a YouTube video as evidence that you were the first to do it.
In order to have the TRD parts that I picked up (namely, the trunk spoiler and side door garnishes) installed here in the United States, I went ahead and translated the instruction manuals from Japanese into English. Please note that these are not official translations by Toyota and are my own...
It is quite comical to me how there are a few very active members of supraforums.com that spend a good amount of time commenting on every single MKV-related post on that website with value-adding comments like, "Not a Supra!" They spend a decent amount of their time to go out of their way to do...
Maybe this has nothing to do with it, but didn't the Supra use one generation older than the Z4 in terms of its system and technology? Not sure if this affects coding but mainly just somewhat curious as to whether they can be coded the same.
Unless your dealer is much more competent than mine, the TRD parts will probably be off the table (the CF mirror caps aren’t TRD parts) as they don’t even show up in dealers’ systems here like they do in Japan.
lol well this is going to get confusing around here with these two user names...
Anyway, on the Japan website you can select the TRD parts via the “customize” page much like you can select the CF mirror caps on the Toyota website in the US when you click to “Build” your car. If you didn’t get...
I guess they’re marking up something that wasn’t already cheap... although I guess that’s what I’d probably do if I sold mine, too, given how much of a hassle it was to get them over here. :-P
I wonder if they're doing this as a way to combat dealerships that are marking up their vehicles (by making it easier to find where new Supras are being sold and therefore reducing the perceived need to rely on dealerships that are claiming that these things are really rare and you need to buy...
I think that the only one I would consider of these is the Artisan, but I still prefer the TRD parts to even this, except for perhaps the wheels (but I don’t like these wheels enough to justify switching from the black LE ones). I would also consider the Ekanoo hood, but that’s about it thus far...
I still don’t understand why they would think that heated seats were necessary in a car that won’t handle well in the winter. They didn’t really think that one through. Ventilated seats would’ve been much, much better.
Also, I feel like a lot of the speaker problems are due to weird factory...
