Just wanted to chime in and say “same” - I drove the Supra for the first time in the rain today and the blades were acting like they were pressed down against the windshield too hard. That is, instead of smoothly moving across it they would almost get stuck and then skip across it. That usually...
I meant that the CF mirror caps that you get through Toyota are actually not TRD parts. They are Toyota mirror caps. For example, if you go to "customize" your Supra on the Japanese Toyota website, you'll see this the image below for the mirror caps. It notes in Japanese that the weave of...
Also, just for your reference, I picked up the CF mirror caps to replace my LE red mirror caps - below is a short clip I took of what the back of the LE mirror caps look like from various angles (it's basically the same for the CF ones):
Because of how glossy the TRD parts were, and given that I am going for a more subdued, matte look, I had Xpel Stealth (i.e., matte PPF) applied to them as well. For the reference of anyone who is interested, here is how each of these TRD pieces as well as the GR carbon fiber mirror caps turned...
As mentioned above, here are some more pictures. Huge shout-out to @NotSoJDM at Garage Therapy for the installation of the TRD parts and TVP Auto (both in Raleigh, North Carolina) for the application of the Xpel Stealth PPF, Xpel Fusion Plus ceramic coating, and Xpel XR Plus window tint.
Here...
Even the stock LC500 excites me. As I would use it for daily driving all I really care about is comfort, convenience and looks and it has all 3 of those in my book. I guess if you want to take it to the track or something I could see why you may not be exited by it, and I understand that looks...
I'll post some more pictures tomorrow and over the weekend, but for now, just a glimpse of some of the TRD parts being installed on my nocturnal black LE with an Xpel Stealth matte full-body wrap. (I still need to pick up and slap on my customized license plate so I've Microsoft Painted that out...
Maybe I’m just weird but the LC500 is hands down one of my favorite cars. I’m definitely planning on picking one up in a few years to use as a secondary daily driver.
I need to get my car inspected in a new state so that’s one thing I haven’t done yet, but deleting both the front and back reflectors is on the very top of my to-do list. Looks so much better without these (and is the intended look of the car as can be seen in any other market).
I just confirmed that I also have a hole. It's always been there as far as I can tell it's intentional.
On a side note, I think that this thread probably ties Denton's thread "Rubber Protection" thread for worst (best?) thread title on this forum.
Awesome to hear! In terms of running the relay, would you be able to provide any more details about that? I currently have the Blackvue dash cam, Power Magic Pro, Power Magic Ultra Battery, and a Blendmount camera mount sitting around, but am not sure if I need to pick up any other parts before...
Any updates on anyone who's got their Blackvues installed via hardwire and successfully avoided the car throwing any codes (e.g., as discussed here) due to the smart battery? I just picked up the equipment to do a hard install but wanted to make sure that someone has done this and actually had...
Also went with the full body Xpel wrap. Swapping the side view mirrors for the OEM CF ones as well as adding the TRD CF rear trunk spoiler and side door garnish. I’ll post picks later this week once I’ve had a chance to do a proper shoot. Here’s the car with just the Xpel Stealth wrap before the...
I can see these possibly being slightly more valuable in the non-US markets, but in reality there’s not really anything special about these cars other than their paint job (and many would prefer not to have matte paint as it’s a lot harder to maintain). The EU ones are the A90 series and are...
