Well to be fair.... "both" meant same turbo, my CTS upgrade went bunk and began burning oil after any amount of higher boost or a WOT pull. First one lasted about 5 pulls of data logging, second one lasted about 1200-1500'ish miles. The CHRA in them is just cheap garbage.
I now am using the catch can kit from KLM. Also have their oil cap that can be routed to a breather and/or routed into a catch can as well. (Will probably mock something up in the coming week)
Double check for leaks on and around your crank case breather tube/fittings. My chargepipe had this issue on my OEM and CTS turbo. Now that I switched to a top mount setup and running an A/N fitting for my catch can system, I have not seen any signs of oil residue leaking in that area.
I've removed my EVAP system down to the forward side of the firewall and just placed a breather/filter on the quick disconnect fitting (Shown in red square). As for the entire system, I have no idea what all is required to be there.
Got my SP1-R system Friday and threw it on, figured I would contribute to this thread for more exposure. Best looking and sounding system in my opinion.
Definitely was worth the wait.
I have seen some people on YouTube utilizing a flared piece of 8mm aluminum tubing to slide over the tip of the injector and seal to compress the seal once its on the injector. But having this tool would be more ideal.
Yeah this is the only thing stopping me from wanting to perform the install myself. I do not want to also have to purchase specialty tools that I would likely only ever use once.
I ordered the pins yesterday. Did you do the pins yourself or source it out? I am a bit worried about setting the injectors back into place without the specialty tool and the phasers on the back of the engine.
These look great and I am definitely curious and interested in the side skirt pieces and rear.
Wondering how well these will look and fit with my Maxton side skirt and rear extensions
I currently have a KLM kit with the PTE6870 on order a couple weeks ago and am now playing the waiting game. Went with a CTS last year and I have had two of them burning oil. They are cheap CHRA's.
So as of now I have actually completely removed everything except this quick disconnect connector in the red square. I purchased a small generic breather filter from like Autozone/Oreilly's and pushed this connector onto the bottom of the breather filter and reinstalled it down at the bottom of...
Update: Over the weekend I actually completely removed the purge valve and capped the fittings on the manifold and then attached a small breather filter to the quick disconnect fitting down at the bottom of the firewall. Will report back tomorrow when I drive the car and see if there is any...
