Conceded, for F and G series BMWs, the rear end toe likes to unadjust itself on the fly for stock suspensions.
What's your take on his front toe though? Wouldn't the snowplow settings (12/14 vs 0 or .05) essentially exacerbate the behavior of the rear of the car?
In defense of my post, I was...
My 2-cents as a 20+ year BMW owner, get a better alignment shop not more parts.
BMWs are VERY sensitive to alignment and toe settings absolutely need to be matching. I used to track and commute in my 95 and 96 BMW M3s and just plain thrash my M435i and now Supra. If the toe setting (direction...
Gonna guess pry tool from removing the rear wing?
If so, yep, I got those and small dents on TOP of the trunk deck.
(Luckily the latest rear wing covers the knicks and dents!)
Yeah don't beat yourself up too bad. We've all done something similar. If you didn't do this with the heat gun, you might have with a pry tool.
A fix...
You could use touch up paint and build it back up then sand.
Amazon. I got this one on sale for $77.. But runs $150-ish now. ABS plastic so it'll take some hits. I used plastic rivets to install, so just drill hole, rivet.gun it and done. Holds to 100+ mph.

Great price, impossible to get a forged wheel set with tires for less than $1k. Advertise on Facebook marketplace and add "fits BMW G series cars too. Great for autocross and racing. Fully forged wheels."
Gentlemen - I am doing a bit of a vanity project using the Supra tow hook location.
(Two strap, GoPro mount, etc.) Is the female socket made on the Supra (Z4) sized for an M18 bolt?
Thank you!
Percy
UPDATE - Update, I grabbed a towhook from my son's 2015 435i (F32), it fits the Supra. So A LOT...
The guys at Millway are pretty decent people, if you offer to pay return shipping, they'd probably swap them out. Email them.
I know this thread is a little old, but if you feel the rear end wiggles or slides too much. Try the rear toe alignment (maxxed?) at 13 degrees toe-in, per Z4 specs. I...
As a guess, maybe it's a daytime running light (DRL) factory setting to have BOTH front and rear DRLs on for that market and Supra.
I found a thread earlier this week around turning *on* the REAR DRL with coding as some European markets had it and some didn't.
The YouTube poster showed that...
Fwiw, if you are ever concerned about quality of service, then go to a BMW independent shop.
As convenient as it is to buy tires and get them mounted at a "tires r us", things like a cross-threaded wheel bolt make that 2 hours of labor at an indy worth every penny.
HKS. The height adjustment solves your height issues. You may be able to swap in springs (like most coilovers) if you feel a setup is to soft or stiff.
Been in the BMW Club going on 20+ years... it's the new adult syndrome of buying new toys because they are shiny and fast. But like all toys, if the reason is to be entertained by the toy, it fades (and starts a debt cycle sometimes).
At some point though, we learn to just love the car, take up...
And once you own it, find a LOCAL BMW independent shop.
Essentially EVERYTHING mechanical - engine, driveline, suspension, cooling is BMW.
With many parts shared across the 2-3-4 series cars.
And get to know the local BMW guys. Super amazing people who know their stuff and have pretty low egos.
So, generally about 6 months before your factory warranty expires, Toyota will mail you an offer to extend your warranty. If they haven't by say 60 days before, just visit your local Toyota dealer and they will offer it.
$1100 doesn't sound that crazy for NorCal.
The starter itself is $450-$675.
Labor looks like 2 or 3 hours (NorCal dealer rates are $275/hr).
You may get a slightly better price at a local BMW Independent shop.
For shops, here's the newsletter for the local BMW Car Club of America.
