  1. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Update. Car is at 3,100 miles now. Tuned by CES motorsports with a stage 2 tune with a Catless DP. Car had 2,700 miles on it when it was tuned. Car is still on original break in oil, no change ever done. Did an oil check today, still in the green but the bar is 50% of the way down the side of...
  2. Stage 2 tune, Boost pressure question.

Just heard back from the Tuner. He said looking at the datalogs its all post shift boost spiking on the boost gauge which is normal. He said manifold pressure stayed perfectly fine.
  3. Stage 2 tune, Boost pressure question.

Hey guys, just got my car tuned on MHD. I went with the Stage 2 OTS map. The OTS map is set to 20-21LBS of boost for target. Under WOT, my passenger said it would hold 20-21 LBS of boost and then randomly show 35 or 41 for a very brief second. I believe it was happening when I let off throttle...
  4. What did you do to your Supra today?

Ehh, I had a 2016 Genesis coupe, bought it brand new. Personally I do not think the steering wheel on the Genesis Coupe was better in any way. I feel like it was thicker for sure, but thats it.
  5. What did you do to your Supra today?

I am as well. We decided to not go custom on the 93 octane OTS Map because MHD said at this point that map is almost 100% dialed so the extra $500 for custom tuning wouldn't have been worth the extra, maybe 10hp and Tq numbers you would get. John advised me to wait on custom tuning through MHD...
  6. What did you do to your Supra today?

John, the shop owner, told me that the run on stock tune with the downpipe was a great run. He said the reason the horsepower figure was that high compared to a 2020 is probably because of the 6 port design versus the 2 port design. After the tune though the 2020 and 2021 make very similar...
  7. What did you do to your Supra today?

Drove from Savannah GA to Monroe NC to visit CES Motorsport and get my car tuned. I'm one of the very fortunate 2021 owners who's ECU was able to be tuned, production date 03/18/20. The guys at CES are incredible, thanks to John the owner, very helpful. Highly recommend if you're local or...
  8. What's the longest road trip you've taken in Supra?

500 miles. From Savannah GA to Monroe NC, then back to Savannah all in one day. Close to 10 hours of drive time. Only problem was keeping my foot off the gas pedal because that trip involved me getting the car tuned in Monroe and the drive back was glorious!
  9. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

So on my 2021 3.0 my oil level didn't move off of max until right around 2,100 miles. Right around the time the car hit 2,100 miles is when the oil level moved down the little notch you see in the pictures I posted, but then again, this car was broken in HARD from the get go, never babied, and...
  10. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

When I do my first oil change I'm going to be buying a new drain pan that has visible quarts markings on it so that I can clearly see what comes out of the engine. I'm going to let it drain for probably and hour and then dump the oil filter in it and see what kind of measurement I get.
  11. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Well 0w-30 won't void your warranty, it's listed as an alternative in the owners manual I believe. I'm personally going to be swapping to either a 0w-30 or 5w-30 oil when I do my first change at 3,000. I'm currently riding the mileage out to 3k, and beating the piss out of the car the entire...
  12. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I know the new Z will out sell the Supra, that's for sure. It will be interesting to see, but I love my Supra so much that I personally won't care what comes of the 400z. I am hopeful that the new Z is a banger and pushes Toyota to get their heads back in the game and make even more improvements...
  13. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I'm thinking once I hit 3k miles I'm going to check the oil situation, if it's the same as the last picture I posted, im going to pull the trigger on the tune. My ECU date is 03/18/20 so I feel like I'm in the clear and there's a shop within a 4 hour drive that has a great reputation with BMW...
  14. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Are you by chance tuned or modded in any way?
  15. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I understand you're happy with your 2020, but for those of us with 2021s, I promise you we didn't buy them to try to spite 2020 owners, or at least I didn't. I wish the 2021s didn't have consumption issues to even worry about, but they do, and your comment makes me feel like you don't really...
  16. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I'm going to be swapping to 5W-30 myself. I'm going to hold off for a bit longer though and continue driving the car to rack up miles. I'm going to see what the oil level looks like around the 3,000 mile mark.
  17. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I'm thinking I'm going to be swapping to 5W-30! I'm assuming the 0W-20 is just for less emissions crap? I've actually never used anything less than a 30w in my life.
  18. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Ohh snap I didn't pay attention to you saying 2019, my bad.
