It is so you can’t kidnap kids in your sports car. We all know this has been a bigger threat than cargo vans with free candy spray painted on the side of them.
Going by the Z4 and 2020 dyno numbers on similar dynos, the torque numbers between the 2020 and 2021 will be damn near identical. Your going to see the real difference in response at “go to jail” speeds. If you are fine with a 2020, the 2021 should not be anymore squirrelly than that.

I agree with you in that the 8HP51 isn’t going anywhere for now.
The transmission isn’t difficult to upsize in and of itself. It is only a matter of ordering a higher rated 8HP from ZF. That may entail a drivetrain redesign (cost) to match design allowances as those parts likely need to be...
The latest treatment guidelines from the China CDC to healthcare works is that this should be treated as being capable of spread through aerosol transmission in treatment environments. They are trying to keep their healthcare providers alive to keep that shit show under control, so I’d trust...
It is a terrible idea if you want to keep warranty. The more costly the repair, the higher the chance they will find it as they have that many reasons ($) to look.
Even if every last piece of the Supra was made outside of China, if things in China (ignoring spread outside of China) continue to tumble, don’t expect many 2021s. Everyone will buying from the same extremely diminished and extremely valuable supply. Only a handful of the wrong pieces being...
Can’t you just pull out the emergency release all the way until it reels back in? I would think it is just a coil of cable on tensioner that needs to be “unlocked” by pulling the cable until fully extended for it to reel in.
I pulled tape on mine. 22” and 21”. I bought some Michelin XTs and they have the adapter in the box. I haven’t changed them out yet but I see no reason they won’t work.
I also just verified online and Michelin as 22 and 21 inches for the 2020 Z4.
That may be what was said, but so I haven’t seen i”any person with added bracing reporting it. Personally it sounds like it was an easy cut to add back in later. Other parts of the interview he outright was talking about making things cheap and dealers gouging poor saps like it was no big...
A good point was brought up. Was the battery actually replaced? Unless you have an electrical issue, there is almost no way the battery died in that time. If there is an electrical issue, then that is warranty related no matter how they try and slice it.
It is a valve regulated battery. If...
I doubt that. These parts can be cranked out by the simplest of shop tools in mass. A couple of guys in a garage with a press and a punch could probably supply all of BMW.
Knowing Toyota, this was financial. The BOM goes down $15 without them. $15 x 5,000 cars is $75,000.
I would be seriously considering at that point to get it replaced at another dealer then use that $650 and some change for a billboard stating those asshats told me to pay to play while the dealer across town took care of me.
