I agree, I think the A90 is going to do very well in the aftermarket. A 335hp A90 does 0-60 in 4.1sec? Can you imagine what a 550-600hp A90 will do? Those are conservative numbers btw....it will be even more insane with hp numbers above that.
The one thing people are not taking into...
I may have worded things wrong, but I never thought or think that the 2JZ is a shit engine. No way. I've personally put together a few of them and know them well enough not to disrespect that motor. However, I do believe it's design is old and newer engines are far superior in terms of...
Why are you surprised? Although I don't own a MKIV or any JZ platform car anymore, doesn't mean I dislike the 2JZ. Do I think it's outdated?....hell yes! Do I think it's crazy to swap a 25yr old engine in a 2020 car?...hell yes! Do I think the 2JZ sucks?....F**K NO!!
The 300ZX? No sir, I sold that car for a pretty penny end of 2018. That car appreciated 3.5x what I paid for it. It really was a clean example that I didn't want to hack up. The 2JZ engine sold shortly after. I used the money from both on top of what I was saving for a dream car, to buy a...
That's true, no French parts. However, I think the point is it doesn't matter if a product is managed, built, engineered, etc... by a different brand. The important thing is will the final product deliver.
I wouldn't be surprised. A heavy car, with alot of power, AWD, and launch control is a sure fire way to void all kinds of warranties....let alone destroy drivetrain components. :p
You both are on point.
I'll be honest, I am a guilty person of wanting to see a "3JZ" from Toyota into the MKV Supra. However, that was before I really understood what the playing field was like nowadays for car makers. It's cut throat....very hard time for all car makers. In the past...
If CX Racing has a full 2JZ swap kit available for the MKV Supra, then my name is Akio Toyoda...lol.
It’s unbelievable the non-stop hate this new car is getting and NO ONE has stepped foot in one. 2JZ swap on a new car worth $50k??? Who does (or will do) that??? Most 2JZ swaps are done on...
The FT-1 concept looks soooo good....it's amazing how the smallest subtle changes from the FT-1 to the MKV made such a drastic difference in appearance.
Also, the GTR is HUGE compared to majority of sports cars nowadays....and it still holds its spot as one of the best performing cars. Really...
I think manufacturers are still trying to get more out of turbocharger efficiency, especially with new turbo designs allowing turbo's to be pushed longer and harder than conventional or previous generations. Not to mention easier...it would be easier to turn up the boost and make more power...
Money talks and bullshit walks. Auto makers are not very picky nowadays because it all comes down to dollars and cents. It's okay for Toyota to share an entire platform with BMW, but not okay for BMW to share it's higher performance engine with Toyota???
If Toyota will be able to move Supra's...
Wasn't it BMW that came asking Toyota to build a sports car together? Hybrid technology aside, I believe BMW approached Toyota after the positive feedback from enthusiasts on the GT86....no?
