Abram, how about I turn this question around a bit...so we donāt go down a bad path.
Now that someone has officially dissected the B58 in the MKV, what makes you believe this engine is NOT a 1000hp capable bottom-end?
The one thing that bothers me about the B58, is the rear timing chain placement. I get why (no need for replacement, less frequent access, etc...)....but things like; cam upgrades, possible cam gear upgrades, etc... will be a real pain in the ass.
Also, not sure if this was already posted...
Now let me see if I can find some of my old posts when "some people" made fun when I said the bottom-end will be 1000hp capable....:p:D.
Ahhh here it is...
Thanks for this Stephan, glad someone got to it this quickly.
I love the 997's....by far my favorite Porsche's of all. I actually went to look at one earlier in the year, but the owner wanted a little too much for it, considering it had a few expensive repairs that needed attention. We had a dealership pull codes off of the ECU and although the codes...
Not saying your wrong....so please donāt take my comments as that. However, why doesnāt Toyota just come out and say a manual will NEVER be available for the A90 moving forward?
Exactly! If he or Toyota absolutely wanted to make it 100% clear that a manual would not be available....he or Toyota could have easily just said that no plans for a manual MKV Supra now or in the future. However, that hasn't been the case....at least not yet.
Tada did (in the past) mention that if there was enough demand, that a manual would be available right? What changed from then til now? The demand? Toyota is probably waiting to see how much money they make initially before further going down the manual transmission hole. If Toyota knew a...
Yeah, Iām not denying the article....but Iām also not factoring out the chance of a manual either. Tadaās interviews have been really odd and cryptic. For example, he constantly mentions how easy it is to ātake out the fake vents to put real ones in place.ā I donāt doubt the fake vents can be...
Just curious, do you know if this is an official āNOā for the the A90 that it will NEVER get a manual, or a āNOā that a manual wonāt be offered for now?
Nice!!! I am very anxious to see the development of this turbo with the A90 platform.
I too am planning on getting a G-series turbo for my STI because of it's size. Rotated setup's are not always an easy deal with the EJ's as most people make them out to be....but the smaller a turbo is, the...
I have been reading up on this turbo for a few weeks now, and all reviews have been very positive. I know Garrett turbo's in general are fantastic turbo's. However, for the G25-660's (or 550's) size, efficiency, and spooling characteristics....this should do very well in the aftermarket. I...
Again, I don't know which trim will have it or date of release, but I was told that a manual will come. When I asked why is Toyota considering a manual in this market crowded with successful auto's/dct's/dsg's/etc.. the response I got was:
"The manual will not be a hot seller compared to the...
