Because the a90 is targeted at competing with the Cayman
Are you implying that marketing is more than likely just a marketing scheme? Yes marketing is marketing.
Yes
okay
Not mention that the A90 would have been the 2nd fastest (in terms of 0-60) Toyota ever, to only the LFA, if the RC-F facelift and Track edition release didn't happen on the same day
I still find it hard to believe the car hit a 4.6s 0-60, especially after reading this article from 97. Of course this is all word of mouth but interesting.

They achieved a 5.4s 0-60, which states being half a second than...
I love me some internet logic:
The internet has told me the car looks like a BMW and that it looks like a baby GT86. Considering that the internet also says the 86 is 100% Subaru, we can conclude Subarus look like BMWs
Like I said above, just because they don't make sports cars doesn't mean they don't know how. I wouldn't consider anything in the Lexus lineup a sports car.
Tada (aka part of Toyota) has proved twice he can build them. 2 for 2 seems like he (aka Toyota) knows how to when given the opportunity
In 2011/2012 BMW did not have anything but a concept, let alone a successful car.
People keep saying that Toyota doesn't know how to make sports because they dont make them. Correlation isn't causation. They don't make them because they aren't profitable. They sure as well know how to make a...
Hmm Ill be interested in seeing why they chose to have the air box on top of the motor resulting in 4 total plastic tubes instead of a single tube with 'Y' pipe to each turbo
Am I the only one confused by the intake path? I see a single inlet with 2 charge pipes going over the engine to what I presume is the W2A interocooler which would then go into the intake. What’s the inlet on the right for? Assuming it has a W2A intercooler like the S55, what does this indirect...
So all the agreements published since 2012 about a 'joint sports car' project were wrong?
Toyota said the opposite. Again this is called word-of-mouth differences, not factual differences. Who is right? It is impossible to tell with conflicting answers.
Unfortunately "Are you willing to purchase a new Supra with a manual, spoiler, targa, vents, and 16 more hp at an unknown price 5-7 years from now?" isn't a great tactic for gauging the market
If 'enthusiasts' actually purchased new cars then it wouldn't be an issue. Cars like Cadillac ATS sedan 6mt and Chevy SS are the cars everyone wants or talks about but didn't sell well when on the sales floor
Oh yeah it's a huge difference. I am just saying there is a great deal of people on the internet who read "shorter wheelbase than gt86" and thought the car was going to be smaller than the 86 when in reality its several inches wider and longer.
Maybe I am just a stickler on actually reading...
I don't think a single person thinks that. It is just a waste of time to add taxes when comparing it to other cars since the other cars have taxes as well.
Outperform it what regards?
The Supra is just as quick (actually quicker in some tests) as the $60,000 Gt350.
The Challenger Hellcat is quicker but it a boat that couldn't compete with a Supra around turn 1.
The Corvette is the only real argument here but again they are completely different...
