  1. 2019 Toyota Supra Prototype Reveals Production Intent Design/Parts

yea it looks really close if the FT1 design fell into water & forgotten its own proportions :dunno: The only design cues I see from the rear so far are the duck tail (which looks scrunched up compared to the FT1's), shape of the rear window & taillights and maybe the air vents around those...
  2. New Toyota Supra rumored to get Toyota twin turbo V6 engine

first time I've read that but my point still stands as it isn't like the LC was going to sell like a Prius, not to mention Japan notoriously has some of the roughest displacement taxes yet they still offer all the engine variants for their home market.
  3. New Toyota Supra rumored to get Toyota twin turbo V6 engine

some strange details in this one....hilariously, this is the first time I've heard of a supposed jdm sports car not offering all the powertrains in their home country lol! even the lc which barely sells in japan is offered in both the v8 & hybrid..that would be blasphemous considering japan...
  4. The Engine Speculation Thread

I've mentioned this particular conflict of interest but no one here either seems to either care or give that dilemma much stock. It still baffles me how little push back there appears to be as normally most JDM fans are among the most vocal of enthusiasts. I'm with you though, if we are sadly...
  5. Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

it looks bad mainly when they mix angular & round shapes....that particular render is very difficult to to pick out the little details, and the housing isn't even shaped exactly like the LC's so it isn't the best example...but with the FT1's angular taillights, it looks very awkward to put...
  6. Lets talk about a side air vent/scoop/intake

you still managed to confuse andimaniac & I think Sun Devil was also referring to the Z4's vent too
  7. Lets talk about a side air vent/scoop/intake

sarcasm is difficult to convey on the intrawebz
  8. Lets talk about a side air vent/scoop/intake

oh, didn't know this thread was about the z4 if you need lasik then yeah they look similar
  9. Lets talk about a side air vent/scoop/intake

what is the disaster you're referring to, the little vent on the front fender on that Z4? probably just confusion considering I'm not sure why the OP used the Z4 photo the true comparison is this
  10. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

yes it is indeed that tall considering that rendering was generated originally from one of the mule pics, I sincerely doubt we are going to see the car look any lower...I thought this was part of the expectation in a modern day car anyways as no one will ever design a front end as low as say a...
  11. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

my bet is that this rendering will be the closest, think it gets the body lines right at least around the door and fender
  12. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

with what space? if they design an intake, my bet is they blend the end of the door with the rear fender....but if you look closely, just like on the C7, the rear quarter panel seems to end midway instead of being one piece with the side skirt which is the biggest evidence against rear...
  13. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

can't see it happening man..you have the B pillar totally wrong, that would be an insanely huge door...the hood/door/rear fender proportions on the mule are totally different so I think it is increasingly pointless to compare such things to the FT1. What you're suggesting is either they place a...
  14. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

it depends, personally I think it might be cheesy if there is a random vent on the door as opposed to being part of the rear fender or side skirts, which is probably why no one else has done it that way..obviously the FT1's rear intake look gorgeous considering it blends the door into the rear...
  15. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

naw, look at some of the other photos of the trunk, it is a hatchback..they covered the edges of the rear window with camo so what you're seeing isn't the start of a retractable spoiler, it is where the rear window ends.
  16. Hybrid Supra Rumors & Chatter / B58 hybrid

where did they get 450 HP from? Lexus rates total system power as 354 HP. The torque figure is the more interesting stat anyways for any system involving electric power..Lexus unfortunately doesn't have this figure in any of their online materials.
  17. Toyota Supra rumored to be offered with 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder base model

if they have a 4 cyl model, it definitely ain't having more than 400 HP as the base engine lol...what room does that leave for the supposed powertrain option? in the merc, that amg is the top variant..
  18. Hybrid Supra Rumors & Chatter / B58 hybrid

while logically it seems sound, I'm not sure how that would work for the price point people want ($60-80 K)..with what you're suggesting any "simple" electric motors would just add weight and not actually make the car any faster, not to mention it would make the car's packaging even worse..where...
  19. Toyota may build Supra convertible / targa instead of 86 convertible

roadster supra is silly, targa should be the only open roof option
