I expect it will take a bit of time after they come out, but if Toyota doesn't do it, I plan on it. We'll see.
If manufacturers won't do manual transmissions moving forward, someone will need to start!

I contemplated making this in the garage section, but I figured it made more sense as a thread, since that's the format I kept it in while documenting the build. I spent years waiting and researching before I started this project at the end of 2015. I almost sold the car and was extremely close...
I agree with a lot or most of this post. I would have been happier I think if Toyota had called this car something different. Either way I am likely to buy one, but I don't think the Supra name was necessarily appropriate for it.

The Zx6 86/BRZ has a healthy dose of Toyota and Subaru all over it even though most parts say Subaru - including the transmission. The transmission which is Toyota/Aisin and was first used in the 1998 Altezza (J160). The engine, while a Subaru-based flat-4 was not used in any Subaru vehicles...
I was previously in a position to buy one then I quit my life to go back to school. Hoping it doesn't flop too hard so I can pick one up around 2021 before they stop selling them.
Hopefully with a manual transmission.

I wouldn't put the Aygo in the same class as the iA/Yaris, that's for sure, and of course it has a Toyota engine, but it doesn't feel very Toyota to me when I've driven them. Seemed like good cars and definitely a Toyota influence.
