I've seen this posted a few times. It's certainly possible there is a software glitch reporting false levels. Of course I'm not dismissing other issues are in play, but a faulty sensor/software certainly doesn't help.
I use carpro perl diluted 1:5 and 1:10 to "dress" the bay. It's magical stuff and goes a very long way when diluted. Not greasy or sticky and really makes the black areas pop.
When you get a chance, can you try to measure it again a few times over the weekend? Saw a few guys on Facebook saying they had the low oil readings after a fun drive, then tested it again a few hours later in a few different locations (they wanted to be sure they were legitimately on flat...
That article is from 2005 it looks like. Our gasoline sulfur is now an average of 15ppm as of 2017 and ll04 is definitely good to go. There are posts all over Bob is the oil guy forums with supporting data from a bunch of guys much smarter than I. Granted ll01 is fantastic oil in itself so you...
Technically yes, you could absolutely do that. You would not be low of course immediately after changing your oil back, however. It would be you swapping back to a 20 weight (fresh oil change) then driving it until it got low again. I'm not going to buy bottles and try to trick folks, etc. I'm...
I'm not masking anything. I'm running the appropriate weight for this motor and not a weight forced on us by the EPA standards for fuel economy. I stated thus far there have been 25ish folks with genuine issues between here and Facebook posts. There are also hundreds or potentially thousands...
Out of potentially thousands of 21s sold, there have been something like 25ish folks between here and Facebook who have genuine issues thus far. Toyota is doing their due diligence and working through each case accordingly.
As for the masking comments, do whatever you want with your cars. This...
Always possible I'm sure. Some folks get warranty work with full tunes and aftermarket parts while others catch hell for having an air intake. That said, my plan is to nip this oil stuff in the bud before it ever becomes an issue. My buds in EU are driving 21s without oil issues and none of them...
I just hit 1500 miles and will be putting liqui Moly 5w30 in mine this weekend. The watery 20 weight just doesn't do it for me. A few buddies across the pond use the Moly in their supras and swear by it. I'm willing to forgo a miniscule amount of fuel economy for better protection and hopefully...
