Please keep us posted. While the sample size has been small thus far (less than 30 people between here and facebook that i've counted) it certainly is trending in the wrong direction. I am just now at 1300 miles and keeping a close eye on mine.
Just take it off before going into the dealership. You don't have to remove the OBD plug completely. Just put the JB4 into map 0, then you can unplug it and tuck the OBD up and away.
I've been good since that day. I was just pushing her pretty hard to get a handful of logs. Ac off and windows down on a hot day with a warm car. Bound to happen. Thanks for the tip though. I'll run the air in the future if I'm logging etc and see if it's a noticeable difference.
I understand the financial differences but honestly just go jb4 and enjoy the boost in power. It's super easy to install and configure. Sure it costs more but it's a much better platform with outstanding support.
Let me know how it feels. I got a "you're good" response to map 2 but I haven't pushed past that. I saw the throttle response feature but haven't tested it yet. I'm content with how map 2 feels tbh but who doesn't want a lil more ;)
My map 2 timings were pretty in line with miminal timing...
I am logging on map 2 currently with an AA catted downpipe and it feels really good. I haven't ventured past map 2 yet and honestly don't feel the need as I'm very happy with the performance as my daily driver.
I am going back and forth on removing it completely and just running stock for a...
Ha! I feel ya there bud.

That said, mine was warm in the footwell after a handful of pulls to gather logs. I posted the logs on the BMS forum and hope to hear something today after they have a look over them. I'm not overly...
Just a drop in K&N filter atm. I do have an AA catted downpipe ready to be installed as well, but I won't get to that for another week or so due to other obligations. That is all I plan to do to the car. Ideally i'd get a solid log or 2 on map 3 with the DP and call it a day.
FYI. If you order direct from berger, the jb4 now comes with the EWG cable installed free of charge. You still have to buy the Bluetooth module but it's a 35 dollar savings.
Initial impressions are "holy smokes, this thing is nuts" and that was on map 2 lol. You can definitely feel the power in the torque and man it feels good.
I installed it in less than 30 minutes including ewg cable. It was incredibly easy to do and I have absolutely 0 automotive talent. A few...
Thanks! I figured this was the case as running 4 more psi of boost has to generate more heat no doubt. I just hadn't read anyone mentioning it and there are a lot of jb4 installs I'm sure. Temps all looked good "to my amateur mind anyway" and it was running like a champ. Was just curious mostly...
Hey folks. Today I installed my jb4 and ran it on map one and two to log. Kept it on map two to run a few errands around town. It might be placebo but it sure felt like there was some warm air / heat down by my feet and ankles as I was driving around town. It's probably just me being paranoid...
I'm right there with ya. I'm keeping this baby forever so I want it documented and fixed (if I happen to have the issue). I'm only a month and a half into owning mine but I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't run into the issue. Rest assured that if I do, it's going to Toyota immediately for...
Yeah that definitely is a different scenario than what I live and I never considered that side of it. Man I hope folks that are experiencing this are actually reporting it.
I hope they are reporting them to Toyota and getting it documented. That said, out of thousands of cars sold, it appears only a handful of folks are having this issue and being vocal about it. So while this looks awful on the surface, the reality "might" be that it's a tiny percentage of cars...
Absolutely. I drop it off on the 12th and will get a full breakdown of everything and post it here. I'm happy to share everything once I have it all in hand. We have gone back and forth (my installer and I) researching and finding the exact fits for my needs. Once every piece is finalized ill...
