I have a feeling we will all be in for a big surprise on pricing. I have this gut feeling the numbered cars won’t be very affordable unfortunately. Dealerships will know the differences between regular MKV’s and the top tier cars obviously and will price gouge accordingly. Don’t forget, there...
I mean, $70-$80k won't be too bad...honestly. But, anything more might force me to look elsewhere. My STI will be the fun daily driver, the R34 will be strictly for collection purpose, and the MKV I want to really have some fun with.
It's weird, I feel like Toyota is building the "alpha" cars...
That thing is so minty clean.
Even though it's so simple in design, the MKIV has this powerful presence about it.
Still, im more excited for the MKV Supra....the later MKV Supra ;).
See that's what I was scared of.
My source said something similar about the serialized cars in that, "you better be ready with whatever Toyota asks for it, because there will be no negotiation and no markdowns." He also said, "dealers will gladly keep them in the showrooms just to bring people...
The GT350R is an incredible sportscar. Don’t be fooled into thinking its just a Mustang....it’s much more. I’d say go teat drive one yourself, but because of their limited production you can’t.
Exactly....there has to be a "base" platform to work off of. Toyota didn't make the MKV Supra's chassis stiffer than an LFA's only to put a 4cyl or low powered 6cyl in it. Overall offerings were considered when designing this platform...just like any other successful brand. The MKIV Supra had...
The reason being is Tada and Toyota expect the MKV Supra as a whole to sell quite well. Even though there is mention of limited production of the MKV Supra, Toyota is expecting to sell more of the base/entry models more than anything. This is where the "affordable" statements are originating...
That's because only car makers who believe the "world is flat" are still building amazing cars :p:D.
There are a few auto makers still putting wings on their cars....but honestly, it doesn't look good on all cars (remember early 2000's spoiler craze).
:what: What would the weight of the car matter on the input rating of the transmission?
You do know the transmissions rating is based on input load not output load...right? I don't think anyone is expecting a factory 600lb/ft of torque producing Supra...lol.
I am sure you are 110% right on the Nm for the prototype.
Also heard that the high torque manual transmission is not as "smooth" in shifting as Tada would like. Ya know, the more I hear these things, the more I feel like this thing is a MKIV repeat...lol. The W58 was a silky smooth manual...
Yep, totally agree. I also never push my "contact" for stuff...when I meet up with them, I'll bring it up socially but it's not like I press them to give me info.
They too did say that alot of the information they are providing is not super sensitive, however, they would appreciate if I didn't...
