When a new motor/configuration is released, BMW doesn't always put it in every vehicle at once. For example the 2008 F01 N54 had 322hp where the E92 N54 had 300hp until 2011 in only the 335is variants
I understand that but they already have a twin turbo v6 without a hybrid (V35a) in the 2018 LS500, but its only in that car currently with no reports of it in other cars yet with 2019 models around the corner
Why they arent using the Lexus v6 in the supra is a rhetorical question, Tada has mentioned why several times. I just think it doesn't fit the rhetoric.
How does Gazoo Racing creating a hyper car have anything to do with my point of Lexus putting the V35a in their mass produced-production...
I have been thinking about this for a while now and I am not sure if dropping the Lexus V35a in the Supra would have the same "outrage" as the bmw partnership. The GTR made the transition just fine. The V35a make more power and torque than the B58 and would be better for weight distribution, not...
You don't have to believe it.
There is no problem in bringing them over, I just said that there is no need to when performance testing. Using that same logic, there is probably a mule with production interior being used for interior durability testing with 3 series side mirrors still on it...
No the mule feature older BMW tech. Like I said, is makes no sense to install Toyota tech in performance test mules. No one said the Goodwood cars were the exact production cars
"Not just in exterior panels, but even in the interior too. There isn’t much that be seen as shared-components in how the car feels. Down to even shift knobs, they are different. Of course, major components are shared, such as engine and carriages, but even the tuning of the engine and...
Theyre crazy if they arent giving the RC a V35a option. I don't know how they plan to compete with coupes from every other luxury brand while using a 10 year old Sienna motor
This may be an unpopular opinion but you can be excited about a car without the promise of buying it.
For example, I get really excited thinking about the Cadillac ATS-V:
Coupe
RWD
Twin Turbo V6
Sport Suspension
LSD
In a Cadillac
Am I running out to the buy the car? No, but it is exciting to...
You can flash N54s/N55s directly from the OBD port even with an android app. The B58 isnt as easy but definitely possible.
Expect them to find a way to make money on this
I don't believe that when he said Toyota ordered a car from them that it means the same thing as one of us going to the "Build-your-own" section of the BMW website. Especially since it is not BMW's plant producing the car, saying they built it to Toyota specs is arrogant when you consider...
Id say if they are still using a B58 block (although made from a different material,) then they would just add the TU.
For example, the M52 head is completely different from M52 TU head (single VANOS vs dual VANOS.) and the Z3 had the aluminum block variant while all other cars had cast iron in...
I never said they were reputable, just that those 'facts' exist elsewhere.
That's definitely taken out of context. Toyota made improvements to the BMW motor and BMW implemented the changes to other models, I don't think that is so far-fetched.
Id like to add, when do not know what is under...
I don't think anyone here said the MKV won't use a BMW motor in the car, people calling the toyota-tuned bmw motor a toyota motor is just semantics.
He isnt the only one stating CGI block with Yamaha involvement, its over on BimmerBoost as well
What could you possibly say that we don't already know here?
The engine bay looks like a BMW? yeah no shit, we knew that years ago. You can troll somewhere else now
Although not having a MT option is a let down for some people, there are a handful of MT options that will bolt up to the BMW block. Modifying the shifter, pedals, driveshaft, and coding isn't the end of the world
