A sedan thats interesting to younger buyers?
Even both Korean manufacturers have far more interesting cars than what Lexus sells with the LS500 being an exception.
What do you mean by "afford?"
I can get approved for the loan and be able to make the payments on it but I do not consider that to be the same thing as afford lol.
With all the other exciting cars out now or soon to be out, it really is hard to choose
Will the 86 be getting the BMW 4 cylinder option? It hinted at it on the leaked BMW spec sheet and I would gladly consider that car with the BMW B48 over the FA20
I agree this definitely wont be the same case as the 86/brz sharing damn near everything to make an affordable sports car since neither Z4 or the Supra has even been considered affordable. I think both companies realized it is easier, cheaper, and all around better to bring in experts on their...
Cost cutting is one way to interpret a collaboration. But in this case, I believe they are collaborating to utilize the strengths of the other company. Toyota needs an engine and BMW needs hybrid tech. Judging by the hyper-aggressive automotive market right now, these two companies are also...
Magna Steyr manufactuers cars for several companies, not just BMW.
With that being said, BMW isnt having all their raw material shipped to them, turned into parts, and then shipped to Austria either
Oh yeah I see what you're saying, people are definitely too quick to hate.
I don't think Toyota will let this be a let down, especially after spending so much time/money/effort on this project but others do not see it that way
How do people complaining about fake vents relate to an aluminum block being able to hold the power goals of 99% of the population?
I understand people will complain about anything and everything, I am just saying there is no point in holding out on a iron block model unless youre plan is...
What concerns me about BMW's reliability (as a former N54 owner) is their unwillingness to use quality materials in order to cut costs. Gaskets, seals, entire cooling systems, hoses, etc. If Toyota is in charge of that, I will proudly tell everyone my Toyota has a BMW motor
Whats the appeal of the iron block motor if the aluminum versions have been known to hold a great deal of power? A lot guys are pushing 900+ through an open deck N54, so the closed deck B58 would be capable of even more. Obviously the sky is the limit with an iron block but that won't prevent...
Now I am even more curious on how they are achieveing 50:50 weight distribution and lower COG than the GT86 with an iron block motor. A V6 would make sense because it can be tucked back into the firewall but the V35a is aluminum. Maybe an inline 6 with an electric turbo/supercharger tucked on...
Oh I agree, without reading the post I replied to then my comment won't make sense. Even at the price of the $35k its a tough sell with 250hp automatic. The mustang has 320hp (correct me if i am wrong) and with a 6 speed manual for less than $30k. The price savings alone is enough to hit a few...
Yeah they grabbed a lot of bmw parts off the shelf but you know this isn't the official production version right? Claiming that not even a washer is Toyota is a stretch
