Buying an entire MK4 for a motor swap is the least economical way of going about the swap.
Id also like to add that there will only be a handful of people doing so for the first several years, mostly performance companies trying to get their name out there.
They will have a hard time being taken seriously if they don't have actual performance variants of them. Especially with the Supra launch a month and a half later, launching sub-par variants doesn't show they are committed to performance. If they do launch performance variants, I think it will...
Are referring to the Camry and Avalon teaser for the LA auto show? I would love to see a performance version of the two (and ES) with increased power output and not just sport springs, brakes, and aero
Oh I wholeheartedly agree, I think it is BS as well but that's the reality. In order to get BOSE audio in my G37, I had to get a sunroof that I never use and NAV that I already pay for in my cell phone bill. IIRC I also had to get adaptive cruise control but that may have been a prerequisite for...
Thats how all manufacturers are though
"You want an upgraded sound system that doesn't use paper speakers? Oh well you have to get the premium package which also includes a sunroof, dual climate control, and AWD"
Not to mention that they can personally remove these things if they wish to do so. The chassis itself is rather light which has its advantages over the MK4 chassis when it comes to stripping weight
This had me thinking of what Supra actually means.
Supra means many different things to different people so I think Toyota knew it would be impossible to satisfy all perspective buyers.
Some people wanted a GTR competitor track car
Some people wanted a Toyota Hellcat that ate up dragstrips and...
Although this car isnt the GT of the past, I would be incredibly disappointed if the car didn't have the features of a weekend cruiser. If I wanted a sports car with shitty interior, Id get a base mustang or camaro and call it a day *insert performance joke here*
I believe the effect youre referring to is caused by the small center grille piece where as a lot of newer cars have a huge center grille with smaller side grilles such as the mercedes above and the Z4. But then again I could be showing my bias against the bumper because I think it is hideous...
Thats a great question, especially when we think about where the 86 would sit below the 4 cylinder supra in pricing. The 4 cylinder Supra will have more power and loads more mid-range torque over the 86 so there would have to be a distinguishing price difference, especially if the Supra handles...
We can agree to disagree on that, I am not here to argue about it.
I was just bringing up rhetorical questions on the development of these 2 separate heads
We can agree to disagree on what we see here but that doesn't take away from the naming conventions not making sense and the necessecity of this manifold if they high output engine has the same emissions benefit with the addition of a filter
Whats confusing about the parts diagrams leak is that the cars we have seen have the traditional 6 port exhaust instead of the 2 port as shown.
I think the WIki article makes it even more confusing because it states the X5 as having the B58B30M1 when RealOem says it has the B58B30C.
To further...
