I know I have mentioned this before, but the B58/ZF8 combination in the Supra feels like what you will experience in a garden variety BMW M40i model. It is a great automatic and I love it in my daily driver, but it's not what I'd want in a sports car.
That is a personal thing for me, because...
We know there are 1500 LEs alone. 320 cars included some premiums but not many. That tells us at least ~1200 LEs are still being held up at the port or are sitting in a showroom (probably with inflated pricing). If the 7/22 launch had gone according to schedule *and* dealers were realistic...
I looked at this carefully on my friends premium a couple weeks ago and forgot to comment on that when I wrote a review. None of the fake vents are close to functional in their current state, so there is no point removing them unless you want to cut metal/plastic underneath and install ducting...
I'm thinking if someone impulsively buys a sports car and then incurs the wrath of their wife, they are either new to marriage or still haven't figured out how it works. Most of us work out the procedures early on and learn how to fall in line and work within the system. My wife has had a lot...
Well, some people would think we're all dumb for spending money on a sports car (I openly admit it's not financially sound, so who cares). Some folks go the extra level and take a double hit by buying and trading so close together. If you can't get some use/enjoyment out of the car during that...
Pretty sure they all do since the official name is "GR Supra", but I have only seen premiums and LEs thus far (don't think base models have been released yet in the US).
Cool! Which dealer did you buy from? I don't know why Toyota is so disorganized with PDI/setup on these cars. When you buy a BMW, the salesman can activate these services (aka "ConnectedDrive" on BMW) while the paperwork is being completed. For some reason it's more complicated on the Supra...
An automatic sports car is dead to me, so I would indeed pay more ($3-4K) for a good manual. If you consider that I spent more to get an M2 Comp than a Supra would have cost, I already paid a premium for a manual! Supra would be in my garage right now if it came with a manual.
I can imagine -- low sports cars are a PITA for trailering. I was going to take my 7x16 trailer to pickup my M2 Comp but I did some math with approach angles/etc and figured it would be trouble and I might end up damaging the car. I would have needed an assortment of blocks and then play...
