Couldn't agree more. Back when I had my first MKIV Supra and was cruising Supraforums, the elitist attitude is crazy. I had a RHD car, and that was so frowned upon. Let alone the MKIII guys. Of course not everyone. But there are a lot of assholes on that forum
With the general widespread public negative thoughts on the partnership with BMW. I wonder if Toyota regrets partnering with BMW for their flagship sports car.
I would agree with that as well. As awesome and powerful as the supra can be. There is no doubt it is dated technology and very mythical to many.
I still am dissapointed its 2 seats even if the rear seats were to be almost useless
But in all seriousness..i sold my RHD TT recently and have the money sitting aside waiting to pounce on a MKV if its right. However id love to put another MKIV in the stable...
I was also thinking if this car is successful. Especially a higher tier version. What does this do to the MKIV value...
I would put the Supra and R34 on a fairly level playing field as well. The R32 is meh, R33 is getting better but the R34 is pretty sweet. Been around quite a few of them for sometime up here in Canada. I think the "Wow" factor wears off a little when you see them more frequently. USA see's the...
So you guys see this premium car being 80K+ USD...
Do you know what this car will be aiming to compete against....Will it be further refined with not a ton more power to go against a Cayman GT4.
Or will they throw power at it and make a Z06/Zr1/911/GTR hunter.
Now dont mind my thinkint after a few joints and a beer but what if...
Developing a whole new chassid was more than Toyota wanted to commit. So they do the BMW partnership to get the cheaper car. To then go back to the drawing board with that now developed car and put their spin on it...
In all reality. I mean I guess its not out of thr question for them to rework thr 2JZ block with an updated head/fueling.....and now the mind wanders....
They can lighten it, Track version probably has forged wheels. Maybe a suspension upgrade with better seats. All of that + 52 HP. Toyota would justify 9K increase.
