Well I figure the worst they can do is bring it to a code that requires a bench unlock. I haven’t actually checked yet but I figure I’d need that anyway before I tuned
I just dropped off my car for this issue. I explained that others had tackled it and it was “known” to a certain extent. We’ll see what comes of it. I’m hoping they can get my I-level up to the latest release
They aren’t the same. Regular chargers are not able to maintain good voltage on a battery while current is being pulled from it. While flashing the car, battery voltage cannot drop below 13v otherwise the flash will fail. The current draw from the ECUs during the process (which is done in diag...
I wonder if the “software” that Toyota sent was actually just the ISTA software and not the actual I-level. Not that it seems to matter. This is discouraging
Most likely, yes. Any time your car is flashed, it will overwrite any tune on your DME. In this case, for 2020s, it would likely soft-lock your DME requiring a bench unlock and re-tune.
I am not tuned so I’m not worried about this. It adds the requirement for a bench unlock for me but I’m still...
yes I’m using the wiper twitch and the below error as the catalyst for requesting the update. My research uncovered that the twitch actually does require a code update
Well, we know this code exists on 2021s already. Seems that's what they're loading onto the most recent builds. I'm hoping, like with all BMWs, they have different releases for different cars. The two main differences are the newer Bosch DMEs along with the 6 port engines in the 2021s. But...
My car is scheduled for Monday to tackle the wiper twitch issue and battery management error. I told the service manager that I want the car flashed to the S18T-21-03-xxx code. We'll see how it goes.
I’ve heard that from others with this issue. I’d buy that explanation if both wipers twitched but only the passenger side does on mine. Also, it’s not consistent. As well, i have been able to correlate the issue to the car not remembering certain settings at shut down (HVAC, radio, mpg/odo)...
That was definitely coded with Bimmercode. Someone got happy with expert mode. Unless you have the original backup file, you will need to have the dealership reflash it back to stock.
Yeah, I'm wondering if the TC system is causing the issue. Basically, the system "thinks" that there is a traction problem potential and then refuses power to the wheels. Some sensor is pushing a bad signal or something like that. Figured it would be a good way to troubleshoot at least. If...
Almost sounds like a glitch with the traction control system. As if it's refusing power to prevent wheel slip or something. Maybe try turning off all the TC systems (and being very careful) and seeing if you can replicate the issue.
