Honestly, I haven't seen any Supra tuner specifically "upgrading" to that as the factory HPFP is good enough now. It's the LPFP that's the weak point in the fuel setup in addition to needing additional port injection to get more fuel in.
Most (like 99%) of tuners will e-tune a car (meaning you datalog on the road). They will adjust accordingly based on your mods and how your car is behaving.
You can find a local dyno and have your tuner tune it on the dyno as well.
Correct. Torque is not kind to the 8HP51 gearbox. A capable tuner will be able to adjust the power delivery in their tune to maximize power delivery while not killing your clutch pack.
It's plenty safe (you will void your drivetrain warranty with any drivetrain mods done to the car, just have to preface that and if any tuner says otherwise, they are lying. Don't think BMW doesn't have the tools to look into the car they built).
Now with that out of the way, you can get a good...
The ZF 8HP51 gearbox in the Supra is a good gearbox but is known to have a weaker 6th gear for its clutch pack. They seem to slip at around the 600WTQ mark (some cars a bit sooner, luck of the draw kinda thing).
It doesn't take much to have these cars running at around 400-450 WHP (depends on...
If mine didn't have the front end done already, I would take you up on that offer.
I'll ask the other local guy I know that has a Tungsten Supra to see if he's interested.
I've done these types of subframe collars on my other cars (Fiat 500 Abarth, Mazda Miata) and they helped a lot. The difference is that the chassis on those two cars benefited from being stiffer since they were sloppy from the factory (more so on the Fiat 500).
I don't think with how good the...
How the quality of the rubber boot and is it softer than OEM? How does it handle with multiple removal/insertions?
At the MSRP, it's $13/coil more than OEM which is already well built and robust.
Any chance to send a set to your distributor in the US for further testing?
It's more or less the same as the rebranded Titan Motorsports Protune module (same housing and connectors; RaceChip most likely is the OE for it).
Decent power gains but you're better off using a JB4 for a piggyback or going with a flash tune for the best performance.
Technically, any tune...
Honestly, any catted downpipe with the GESI element will be similar in performance. Build quality ranges from decent to overpriced.
If you got your catted downpipe from Powerneedy or Active Autowerkes, or AMS, or others, they will work fine.
As for dimensions, they are all within the same as OEM.
Last I spoke to Seibon (October 2020), they said that the production run didn't have the cutouts for the sensors (since not all Supras have the sensors as an option). If they changed it since then, I guess, but I did call them out on all the photos they had listed on the site as well as the ones...
They don't include the cutouts for the sensors. I found that out the hard way. The Seibon piece is heaver than the OEM plastic piece as well. Just FYI.
