Hello all! I know this is a very generalized question and apologies for potentially opening up a can of worms, but is tuning between car manufacturers the same? I’m fairly new to tuning so please bare with me.
I understand that air/ fuel ratios and timing are contributing factors to...
I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Reason why I’m going catted is that I’d prefer not smelling exhaust fumes and it’ll be more of a street build anyways.
On top of that I live in California. At least with a catted downpipe, I can try getting it passed off as stock. Downpipe might fail visual...
Mid engine cars always seemed like a riot to drive. Wish I had the opportunity to drive one, even if it were just an MR2 lol.
Funny enough, I was in the market for a Civic Type R before buying my Supra, but the ridiculous dealers here in California were wanting 5-10k markup. Best case scenario...
Oh wow, that’s amazing to hear, especially on stock turbos. Looking forward to modding mine when the time comes.
Have you had any traction issues with all the added power?
That is one beautiful ride.
After reading everyone’s posts, it made me realize how few cars I’ve actually ever owned. Sentimental value is what glues me to the cars I have. I give it up to everyone who can swap cars in and out for the newest toys! :D
Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it.
My goal in the future is to run a catted active auto downpipe, E50, and a protune. If I can get to 500whp on just those I’d be extremely happy.
If I’m looking for more power I’ll pull the trigger on a Pure 800 Turbo. With an E50 blend...
Lol for sure.
I know Tada-san said they can be made functional, but I think it’s more work than what it’s worth. From what I’ve gathered, the only thing people have managed to change was swapping out the black vents for carbon fiber ones
Definitely do what’s in your best interest man. I thought the vents would bother me a lot at first too, but it’s more of an after thought after actually driving the car.
The only things I can think of are:
1) Traction control
2) Speed warning
3) Lane departure
4) Bluetooth or wireless connectivity
Worst case scenario, unplug the battery and/ or reset all your settings to factory.
Looking at the online manual, seems like system limits can cause an incorrect...
Picked up these carbon fiber ones off of amazon. So far I love them, look great too. My only gripe is that there’s a slight gap on one of the sides between the two hard shell pieces.

I think it depends how long it’s been sitting on the lot too. Do note that some cars are sold as “new” but were actually dealer demos with some miles driven on them. This could also drive the sales price down even more.
I don’t doubt that some people picked one up for 46-47k, but that could...
So the sales price they were offering you was around 48.7-49k? That’s actually pretty good. This is for a premium 2020 model right? Invoice is around 53,300. Minus 3500 Toyota cash back, should place you at about 49,800 vehicle sales price give or take a couple hundred bucks.
G37s are definitely nice little cars! Saw a supercharged one at my local drag strip a couple of months ago. Was easily doing low 12s, high 11s in the 1/4 mile :confused1:
Did they offer you an out the door price (OTD)? Sales price of a car kinda comes secondary if you’re able to determine an OTD price that includes your sales tax and minimal fees. If they give you an itemized list of their fees, just knock off the advertising and shipping fees from your OTD...
Hmmm, no idea my friend. I’m guessing playing with traction settings and sport mode doesn’t help?
I’m sure someone here more knowledgeable will chime in. Hope you get this figured out.
Hey guys! Seeing as how many of us are car enthusiasts, it got me thinking. What cars did you all own before picking up your Supra? Better yet, what other cars do you currently own?
Personally, I’ve always been a euro car guy. I’ve previously owned an E30 325is and currently own an E36 M3. When...
