See Danny, we can agree on something ;). Objective data is useful but subjective crap is what sells cars to drivers IMO. You and I both don't like STi's for the same reason, but I definitely prefer more stability on track, so I'll take neutral understeer vs oversteer. Both can be fast though...
Man y'all really out here thinking that every reviewer is paid when they don't agree with you lmfao. Get out of your echo chambers, there are blue skies outside.
Haven't driven the new Z yet, but I think its pretty much fact that the Supra is disconnected driving experience when compared to...
Jesus guys, what happened here? Thread is now locked. Word of advice for everyone here: Take a fiver and then read your post before you post it. If it sounds like a child having a fit, maybe don't press Post.
@Carl - Driveway Labs when the tune comes out, post a detailed technical outline of...
Jesus that thing looks like an absolute lemon. All that undercarriage damage and the strut towers cracked is a no go for me, and I think I'm braver than most lol. That's a parts car.
Other than the basics that everyone mentioned, the factory intercooler will heatsoak on a warm day after a couple sessions. New intake manifolds are a pretty penny though, so not something I recommend doing until you've done all the more foundational stuff.
BMW does not have a Torsen/Helical diff in its part catalogue. And Toyota does not make any of the mechanical components in this car. BMW's only mechanical LSD option is the M-Performance Clutch Type diff. So it would be impossible for this car to have a "worm gear type" LSD
Which facility is this at? That's a ton of space for $575. I've got a few cars in Chicago I wouldn't mind moving into one of these for that price. Unless this is split with the other 3 car owners? That seems more in line with what I would expect for price.
BMW does not have a Torsen diff available. And trust me, its not a Torsen, the car would drive totally differently.
All you 2.0 owners, go slide your cars on a wet day, you'll realize its an open diff within the first 30 seconds.
The weight balance of the 2.0 is fantastic in my opinion, I...
Good idea.
These are the two part numbers for diffs for Supras. WAA05 is the eLSD in the 3.0 Variant. As you can see, it says "WITH(LSD)". The other is WAA07, and does not mention LSD.
When the 2.0 was launched all those years ago, I asked the Toyota USA team and they confirmed that it was an open diff.
I had a press car for a week and did a LOT of driving, including drifting. Unless the clutches were smoked on that thing, it was an open diff. Drove completely open...
Who cares man? Since when has the opinion of children on the internet ever had any bearing on a car's actual capabilities.
MKIV Supra guys always talked shit about GTRs, Camaro guys talk shit about Mustangs, 86 guys talk shit about Miatas, blah blah blah. That will never change.
For the rest...
The 2.0 Supra in the US has an open diff, no LSD.
I'm not sure why people get so pressed about the Z's existence. It looks like a fine car that has a number of compromises depending on what trim you get, just like the Supra is. Nissan just chose different things to compromise on.
Personally I...
