I hope it is because idgaf about the manual Supra. I just wanna put in a deposit for a GR Corolla which is supposed to be released October of this year if all the microchip shortage stuff doesn’t bump that back again
God it’s been a minute since I’ve updated my build thread because LITERALLY NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. my poor car has been sitting at the dealership for a month waiting for the freaking Vanos Central Bolt. The dealer is replacing it under warranty along with the exhaust side cam gear in order to...
That refund is NOT always refundable and you have to be willing to accept that. Dealers here want a 1000 deposit and the only way you get it is if you buy the car it goes towards the loan or can be refunded HOWEVER if you buy the car and you hate it than you’re out 1000
Parts will be a pain in the ass to get. I’m currently waiting on a central vanos bolt for my exhaust camshaft. Just the bolt itself and it’s been on back order for a month and just got updated today to not being available until April. Keep in mind that’s just a SINGLE bolt. I could go out to my...

Looking at this tear down from papadakis there is NO room to remove the cam gear without pulling the timing cover, replacing the rear main seal of course and then having to remove the guides and the chain before removing the exhaust cam shaft.
isn’t this timing component on the transmission...
This is good to know, I knew that for the central bolt the timing could be left in the locked state but for the cam gear I would expect the chain to need to be removed. I didn’t see how it would be possible to release tension on it, remove the cam gear, install the new one, and then reinstall it...
