FWIW, I imagine Obsidian Motorsports/Pure Automotive could pull something out with Motec as they did fantastic work decoding the CAN system on the 86 platform (among others). This many years later, they're still the only company with a fully integrated solution for engine control on JZ side and...
Dani finally came out with his video! Pretty thorough review, if you can speak spanish (or use subs lol). He is a little biased of course since he does race with Toyota but nevertheless, a good video. :headbang:
Nice work @ec15!
I'll be honest, a bit of a lackluster cabin in terms of design IMHO, but I hear the material quality and fit is really good, so at least we have that going for us!
Please don't put a metal plate on your dash behind your windshield, that is extremely dangerous. The last thing you need is a thin metal disk flying around in your cabin in the event of an accident.
If you don't want to drill holes, then use a tow hook mount or something similar. If the looks...
The casted turbo port design is becoming increasingly common these days as it is vastly more space and cost efficient than a traditional individual-port+manifold design. Some motors will have a single port, but since this motor utilizes a twin-scroll turbo, it has two ports. Some manufacturers...
The water pump will be the same as the current B58 cooling unit, which is a mechanical water pump assembly as well as an auxiliary electric pump specifically for the turbo.
The pump assembly can be seen here on the driver's side of the motor, attached to the block:
Also, that oil filter looks...
Remember though guys, different markets get different pricing, so you can't just use an exchange rate to determine US pricing necessarily. That being said, this certainly works as a rough ballpark, and I think it's right around where it needs to be.
Calling each other "Half baked turds" is not good discussion. I seriously don't have time to clean up this thread right now, so I'm just telling you guys to act like adults so I don't have to deal with yet another dozen pages of cleanup. It's almost a weekly thing at this point.
Aite, boys, I'm stepping in here yet again. Keep going at each other's throats and I'll keep the banhammer hot and ready. News flash, you're not changing anyone's opinions on the internet, that's just how the internet works. Keep it civil, please.
I disagree entirely about the 86, but that's fine, I can't expect everyone to understand driving dynamics. And I think you misunderstood, I don't care about naysayers, everyone is entitled to their opinion of course and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just telling people to stop creating...
Discussed to death sadly lol. Basically, overseas markets (China and Europe mostly, I guess) have a strange desire for brand names to be spelled out. Such a desire does not exist in North America and we likely will not be getting the extra badge here.
Lmaoo yes, the axis of evil usually spells trouble. No doubt it won't be exactly the same, but I think both myself and the some of the OG FT86Club guys all kind of sit back and chuckle because of all the similarities between the two projects. Either way, not stressing about it is important...
