According to my buddy, its pretty run of the mill stuff talking about its appearance at Goodwood. Mentions that it's Auto only, with the possibility of a Manual later on. No stand-out or new info apparently.
MKIVs are so balanced man, they just need a little love to get to the right place. I wish more people took advantage of that. It's a side of the car that is so different from the "highway monster" ethos that it generally carries, and the one that Tsuzuki-San and the whole Supra team were focused...
It is shorter in wheelbase than the 86, just like the MKIV is. It is longer, wider, and lower than the 86 by a decent margin. It is shorter in overall length than the MKIV by 4" and change because it doesn't have the 90's-spec bumper overhangs of the MKIV, but it is wider by nearly 2" and has a...
Yeah tell me about it dude! Longest I've been without an MKIV Supra in the last decade or so has been maybe 6-7 months. Let's see if I can break the record this time around. My new neighbor has a 94 Baltic Hardtop NA-5spd though. and I have a 7675, a 6765, and a full GTE shortblock in...
I voted yes, but that's sort of a lie. I already sold my MKIV, not to buy a Supra, but rather to buy a house. Lame, I know. But I will likely forego buying another MKIV Supra in the next year or so to likely purchase an MKV, assuming I haven't drowned in mortgage payments.
Oh sweet dude, didn't know you got a chance to drive it already! How did it drive? Just like an 86? Dang bro, should have called us too considering the rest of us still don't even know what motor the car will have.
I prefer the style that actuates with a button. I like having quiet exhaust mode for creeping by the policemen and loud mode for hooning and whatnot. Weight is the concern with an actuated setup of course, and well, a lot of us will be going to 4" turbo-backs anyways lol, so maybe they'll all...
Yeah it's either a system like A70 described or it's a electronically actuated system in the muffler. An actuated system will have a button that opens it or will open at higher RPM (or both).
Just a note: Converting prices between regions is almost always inaccurate. Different countries have different taxes/economies and currencies/exchange rates which can wildly skew prices from region to region.
As Ryley mentioned, the best guiding factor would be just see how much competing cars...
Random question, but do you know if Toyotas D4S technology was designed in collaboration with Yamaha? Of course, Toyota has been experimenting with DI since the 2JZ-FSE days, which Yamaha may have had a hand in, so I always wondered if Toyota's (arguably) best head technology was developed with...
Yeah, I have no idea. Not sure who is designing the interior or how much freedom they have. We'll have to wait and see what we get. The only thing I've heard is that the material quality is pretty nice, but other than that I don't know too much.
Yup, BMW's own M "Double-Joint Spring-Strut Front Axle" design is largely similar to the front suspension on the Supra. M3/M4s use a 5-link rear, I believe, and the Supra appears to be a similar style, although I'm not sure if its' a 5-link or not yet. Same style of aluminum subframe with a...
