Just sarcasm, my friend. No worries. :D
August 18th is the first day of Monterey Car Week, so we should get some solid Z4 stats and we can speculate from there. Until then, we sit tight. There likely won't be much news between now and then.
If they're all in the google drive you posted above, I can help you get em all uploaded to the forum. It'll probably be easier to get them onto imgur and embed them rather than upload them direct to the forum. The forum uploader is meh.
Just PM me a share link to the GDrive folder and I can...
Damn, the fit up on that cage is very nice indeed. Also, pretty sure we're good to go in terms of clutch pedal and master cylinder mounting. Any old bimmer brake/clutch pedal assembly should bolt right up there, I think.
The trunk area should be properly spacious, so that's great. And I think...
Okay, this is good! Front suspension has split cast aluminum lower arms which look nice, with a clamp style knuckle, which is meh for places with snow/salt, it also means we can't get any camber adjustment out of the knuckle, which you can get (minimally) out of a bolt type shock mount. Rear...
Awesome! I don't wanna jump the gun but I think the firewall is definitely ready to take a clutch pedal. This doesn't necessarily mean we're going to get a manual at launch, but does go along with what Moto San was saying when he mentioned "provisioning for a manual trans"
The suspension should be similar at least, as they can't change too many of the hard points that make up the factory geometry. Underbody shape/general chassis design will be the same as well.
I wonder if 5Axis/Calty or some other Toyota-subsidiary design house will end up making the concept wheels for the production car, like how 5AD made the Scion FRS Concept wheels. Granted, nobody ended up buying the 5AD wheels, so maybe not.
Ayyyy that's my mann!!
I imagine Ryley jumping over the ropes and snapping pictures at an almost manic rate, security fruitlessly trying to pull him back. Only when the third taser finally hit him did he fall, but by then, the damage was done, and all the pictures were already somewhere in the...
Just FYI, those are all photoshops, it's not a real photo of the engine bay/cover. It's a photo of a G30 540i with the Toyota logos photoshopped onto the cover. You can tell because of the lateral bracing and second "fin-like" cover on the side, which is direct from the 5 series.
I believe A70 is correct in saying that these are likely production validation mules. As such, what you see is what you get, ladies and gents. This is probably more or less 100% ready to go, save for any manufacturing quality defects that they may have found in the teardown of these cars back in...
Hell yeah boy, I need me some parts!
Also, I hate to admit it, but even I am one of those dbags that has MKIV headlights and taillights packed away in the basement waiting for the day somebody really needs them.
I once was in an HPDE group with a C7 Z06 at Blackhawk Raceway and I lapped him at least once in every session. I was in a mostly stock FRS with a square 255 Dunlop ZII setup. Only mods I had were camber bolts in the front and a catback. It's all about the driver mod, and being able to be...
This is one of the older prototype mules that is covered in fake body cladding. This is common practice to obscure the shape of prototype vehicles. The reason that this mule still has the cladding is likely because this is a long term reliability tester, thus there are no aero concerns as it is...
Yeah RR Racing has done great work on that platform, the problem is just that it took over a decade, not to say that that's of any fault of theirs, but rather just a result of the market. Not to mention that the CANBUS systems in cars today is far more expansive and complex than that of the ISF...
