Right. Z4 forums were helpful to get me started on looking for a horn. Even though the Z4 has a better horn than the Supra (it’s like Toyota decided only to have the high note?), there were some people replacing it.
93 or 100 here. I wouldn’t use anything less than 91.
Side note: the other morning the temp dropped for the first time since I got the Supra in mid Aug. It was like having a CAI, and with 100 O, I hit 0-60 in 3.75!
As a former 86 owner, I would recommend the Supra most heartily. Look, I loved the 86–a true 10-10ths car—but the Supra offers much more in terms of the range of your driving. The Supra is a great daily; it’s fantastic on windy, curvy roads, and it’s a genuine time attack car on the track.
I just replaced mine with the NAPA/Balkamp FIAMM low note blaster horn. Plug & play.
Part no: 730-1056
Cost: $20.00
DIY labor time: 1.2 hr (I didn’t want to mess anything up; disconnected battery, etc. True labor time could be like 30 mins or less. 4/10 on a difficulty scale but I’m no mechanic)
Wire. And, yeah, I paid over MSRP because I wanted it in early Aug. Like my grandpappy always said, “you gotta pay to play, son.”
I’m pretty sure he coined that phrase. :hmm:
