Welcome! :)
Without getting into the convoluted bs that is model hierarchy, basically they discontinued the IS-F due to sales and because they were developing the GS-F.
That said, the RC-F sales are pretty bad, and it's really just a by product of engineering a convertible when all the...
the 996 is cancer IMO, but I like the 997 (preferably the 997.2).
between that hideous front end and the IMS bearing, I wouldn't be caught in a 996 lol.
Loud and proud! my A70 idles at ~105db, jumps to about 120+ when driving around, and WAY higher at WOT, especially when that when the gate opens lol.
To be fair, it got far louder once I went single/cams/etc.
thats definitely the question I'm most curious about, but yeah I'd be surprised if BMW used the new engine. they already said they aren't even considering an 'M' variant due to projections and niche, and the B58 will easily do decent power and doesn't need that tunability.
One of the engineers jokingly said the information being passed around is largely outdated Z4 info. In other words, may not even be current BMW specs let alone for the Supra.
I think plenty of us realize that to be true, but many don't so it was funny of him to mention it.
It has been hinted at being present since the beginning (back when all I knew was that the new motor had a different head), but as I am no longer on the Supra project I have not seen the motor in person.
I can however ask and see what they say, but it will probably be something cryptic or with...
I've said likely 350 with upwards of 380 being possible. I wish it was 400 or 450... that's in regards to the street car though.
The GTE racecar pictured would have to do 500+ to be competitive.
I pulled up a white paper we have on it, and it credits Yamaha, Denso, and some others will assisting in development, but more or less appears to be in house Toyota design.
yep, it's a not exactly the most efficient or intuitive solution... there are always exceptions based on manufacturer, but generally the way they do things is very different.
